A little odor now and then (from sweat etc.) is normal and unavoidable.

  • infection is the most common one

    • Hopefully they don't, because it's wrong. The strong fishy odour that many women have is actually a result of washing too much. Not washing enough. Recommending that women wash their vagina multiple times a day is a very good way to destroy the vagina's natural balance of fluids and bacteria. Also, shaved/waxed vaginas are more prone to bacterial infections. Pubic hair is there to make it harder for viruses and bacteria to reach the vagina. So removing it actually makes the vagina less hygienic, not more.

    • @JaniyaRose hence the reason I say they should follw. once a day and then make sure to at least wipe after peeing. as for the shaving, well interesting. I do however prefer shaved/ waxed. especially when going down on them and eating them out. as long as it is well kept and hygienically clean

    • Washing once a day with water (definitely no using soap) is a good idea. But washing every single time they pee, which is what the OP is suggesting, is NOT a good idea. And yes, of course, wiping thoroughly after going to the bathroom is a must. The shave/wax thing I know is a personal preference, but it is something to be aware of :)

  • Umm, actually over-washing your vagina is a very good way to cause vaginal odour. When you wash too much, especially if you're using soap, you can remove/kill all the good bacteria down there that maintains a healthy balance. That strong fishy odour that guys usually complain about, is usually a result of over-cleaning rather than being unclean.

    • Also, shaving and waxing is actually less hygienic, not more. The whole purpose of pubic hair is to make it harder for bacteria and viruses to find their way in. If you take that hair away, you take away that defence. Which will of course lead to more bacterial infections.

    • of course anything excessive is bad but it must be washed after toilet.
