Actors & actress having sex on screen.

I always wondered that actors and actress who are married. That they are in a movie and ,have a sex seen too do with another actor & actress. I wonder what there husband or wife thinks on the side and do the actors have to sign something if they have a part doing a sex seen with someone.

  • Its called acting! They're pretending!

There is a famous story about Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie actually having sex in a film called "Don't Look Now" which I think was so controversial because it was quite graphic (for the time). It has been consistently denied by Donald Sutherland. I haven't heard what Julie Christie has said about it.

Essentially, the actor won't get emotionally involved or compromised by a sex scene (if they are good!) simply because it is a part of their life which belongs to their "character", not to them - so it is not them who is really doing it if you see what I mean.

This is called "character acting", where the actor assumes the entire character and personality of the person they are portraying.

Most spouses understand this I think, although I don't doubt that there are times when the on screen chemistry is so strong that they perhaps have a misgiving or two!

  • EVEN if it's p*rn flick what we see is a finished edited product. The actual takes and retakes are more of work than actual sex.

One can't rule out certain actors getting involved but by large most of it remains strictly professional and let's remember it's being watched by the crew all the while with the director yelling out stuff etc + high intensity lights blah blah.

Yes they do sign documents most time that relates to the whole script.

There are husband / wives who impose restrictions on their spouses but there are those who don't while there are those who actually enjoy it and those who see is as a work of art :)

  • Most actors and actresses do NOT have sex with the other actor/actress on screen. There is a name for that form of acting, but real sex is different from the onscreen sex most actors have.

Apparently Shia and his ex girlfriend broke up because he wanted to take on that form of acting by actually having sex with his costar as opposed to doing what most actors do (genitals taped back, barriers in between).

As for the nude scenes, yeah. But if they're both actors then they both understand it comes with the territory. Putting all of these limitations in your contract means you'll get passed up.

    • Bc I was watching Tanner Hall and kinda seen was like OMFG

  • They don't actually have sex.

I've always heard it's so awkward with the bright lights and all the people around that it doesn't feel sexy at all. Like being naked at the doctor's office.

    • Clearly you've never seen 'the brown bunny'

    • What's that?

    • The Brown Bunny was a rare exception (the actress was dating the actor/director and gave him a real BJ on camera). Most of the time a nude-colored foam pad is placed between the genitals of the actors, and/or the guy wears a "sock", and remember there is a 20+ person crew around, and a director who cuts every few seconds, and make-up artists being brought in between takes to tough up makeup. As any actor can tell you, there's very little sexy about a movie sex scene.

  • I had a romantic kiss scene in a play when I was in high school. We were supposed to be doing stage kisses, and weren't. =)

Her Boyfriend didn't think my reasoning (realism being important) was all that convincing. Lol!

  • Iv'e been in some movies and I wouldn't do it.

  • I always thought it was clear underwear or a stunt butt.
