Are guys comfortable being around other naked guys?

A friend of mine on the swim team swam naked. The girls weren't at practice so all the guys on the swim team decided to swim naked. That's gotta be like 20+ guys. I personally thought it was the gayest thing ever and I want to make fun of him so bad. It's odd to imagine that all the guys on the team have seen each other completely nude...Are guys cool being naked with other guys (presumably not random strangers)?

Believe it or not, up until about the 1960s, it was not uncommon for boy's to swim nude in public high school gym classes and at YMCA's and such. Till that time, gym classes were largely segregated between boys and girls. Girls were generally expected to wear swimsuits but guys would be naked.

This was done largely because of health concerns - the thinking was that swimsuits would need to be cleaned regularly and the costs would be prohibitive, and pool filtration systems would get clogged by the threads from swimsuits. (Allowing girls to wear swimsuits was considered a social necessity.)

Anyhow, guys typically are not all that bothered being naked around each other - at least not by the time they are in high school. It's not a gay thing, so to speak. It's a guy thing.

I think this is a team thing. where it might not happen with a group of guy buddies hanging out at someone's house(unless girls were there lol) but it might happen with a team because they already see each other naked in the showers and changing ect so it's no biggie for them to do that, but if a guy told me him and his team did this I'd still think it was amusing and I don't know why LOL it just sounds so very Roman bath houseesque or something I can't figure out why it's funny

some are, some are not. It is pretty much a guarantee though that if you are forced to be naked in front of your peers of the same sex that you will get less uncomfortable after awhile
