Are pap smears a hoax invented by male doctors

As the old saying goes: "A lie told often enough becomes true."People tend to follow whatever they grew up to believe, instead of doing critical thinking. Most women have been programmed to believe that not having regular paps smears is putting their lives at risk. Fear is used to get women to comply.  So these are the questions women need to ask themselves:Is there any hard evidence that proves paps smears save lives? There are many false positives, and abnormal cells often don't lead to cancerous growths. As a result, unnecessary treatment can do more harm than good. Have women done a proper investigation into pap smears, or have they just gone along with what they have been taught? Pap smears was invented by male doctors. Trust a man to invent such a practice--a practice that allows medical nut jobs to open up a woman and check her out. And in order to get women to comply, women must be told that refusing such examines might cause them to get cancer. Use fear to get women to comply. Brainwash them at an early age so by the time they leave school they are programmed to have regular invasive exams.

Seriously? This is your question? It called preventative medicine. No abnormal cells don't always mean cancer; however, if they do find cancer at least it hasn't been festering there for years and it's too late by the time they find it.

Oh, and by the way, it is most commonly female doctors who perform a PAP smear, and there is nothing all that enjoyable about performing one either, having worked in the medical field and been on both ends of this type of test.

I suppose you must think that some male doctor out there gets off on sticking his fingers up a guys bum too, or else what other possible reason would there be for a prostate exam?

(my second comment) Also, after having read your 2 other questions, I think you have some issues buddy. I would suggest you go see someone about it, but then I would want you to think that I've been brainwashed by society and that's why I am suggesting this. The fact that all 3 of your questions on this site are related to gynaecology suggests to me that maybe it is you who is brainwashed? Really though, I think you need to find a more appropriate topic to occupy your thoughts...

Seems awful delusional to think that agreeing with preventative medicine makes one a sheep. I personally have several female friends that the dr has found problems with during a routine exam. One of which has been battling cervical cancer for over 14 years at this point. If it wasn't for yearly checkups more women would die as female reproductive cancers are generally labeled as silent killers as they have few symptoms until it is too late.

Because I have a masters in Molecular Biology and think your question is not only ridiculously uninformed, but also incredibly dangerous. What kind of person thinks that a pap smear is a sexual act? Newsflash: if you have a malignant growth in your netherregions, the doctors will need to invade your orfices or examine your funny bits.

in my opinion pap smears are a scam for sure. and no woman should allow themselves to be subjected to this most awful and invasive test which just gives the sick care pill pushers who 3 out of 5 times misdiagnose fake cancers to make money on the procedures and drugs.

True.  And polio vaccine does not work so skip that.  Condoms don't help prevent the spread of STDs, nor provide any pregnancy protection, so go without.  Life jackets actually weigh you down, so do not take them out on a boat.  Car washes hypnotize you into thinking your car is clean, but it isn't, so do not waste your money.
