Bleeding while/after going to the bathroom?

This is SO embarrassing but this is the only place I know ill get answers. The past few days I've been bleeding from my butt when I go to the bathroom. I've always had struggles going #2 but I have NEVER bled from there. Will this eventually go away or should I go see a doctor? Can this be a sign of some type of illness? No stupid answers please.

  • If you have to strain to poop, you will likely develop hemorrhoids, which are enlarged blood vessels that herniate around your anus, and can cause bleeding and pain. You also tend to get them if you sit a lot (truck-drivers, pilots, and other people who can't get up and move around very often tend to get them), or if you don't keep that area clean.

The solution is to increase the amount of fiber that you eat. Fiber comes from plants (mainly grains, fruits, vegetables) and is the stuff that your body can't process. Lettuce, for example, is mostly water and fiber, and fibrous foods like beans, carrots, and pineapples will also be high in non-digestible fiber. The fiber makes your poop softer, which makes it easier to go, and also makes you go more often (2-3 times a day, instead of once a day or less) as it increases the volume you have to expel.

Try increasing the amount of fibrous foods you eat by about 50%, and reduce the amount of meat you eat by about 20%, and I bet this problem will go away on its own. Plus, you'll be eating much more healthy.

  • go see a doctor - a specialist. It could be a tear in which can be repaired with a simple ointment applied for a few weeks.

Trouble going #2 will do this to a person.

Also try taking a laxative and a stool softener which also helps.

Could also be hemorroids but see a dr.

Good luck as it is painful and a pain in the ash...

  • One of a couple things. it never hurts to go to the doctor.

How much water are you drinking? How much fiber are you eating? What is your diet like?

  • Yes you should see a doctor, it could be a sign of many different things. So please do see your doctor and I hope they can help and you get better. And I'll cross my fingers for you that it's nothing too bad. Take care.

  • Sounds like a typical parasite. No biggie. Go to an internist specializing in infectious diseases. You'll be fine.

  • !?$%! NO! It's not normal!

!?$#%! YES you could be dying!

    Go to the doctor...NOW!

  • pretty sure if my ass was bleeding out I wouldn't be looking for advice here. id be in a waiting room in a clinic or possibly in er. I thought I had blood in my stool once but it turned out the soup I had eating a day before colored my poop a rosy red.
