Can my girlfriend who takes the birth control pill get pregnant while having sex without condom?

My question may sound stupid but I'm just looking for a confirmation.

My girlfriend and me mostly have sex with condom (like 48 of 50 times) despite my girlfriend uses the birth control pill very well. Sometimes (when we have sex without condom) she asks me to cum inside her but I'm scared for doing so, so I pull it out early. Is there any chance that my girlfriend could get pregnant if we do so? Please explain. What are your experiences with it?

  • The whole point of the Pill is to allow the man to cum inside the girl without a condom. But is there any chance of pregnancy? Yes, it's only 99% effective , and less if she isn't good about taking her pills on time. Only you can decide if the risk is worth it.

As for my experience, I'm on the Pill and my boyfriend always cums inside me and no pregnancy yet after two years. I use an app to help make sure I take it on time, and my boyfriend and I have agreed in advance what we'll do if the Pill fails and I get pregnant (abortion). That's not a conversation you want to have after the oops happens.

  • If she takes her pills properly and have been on them long enough, it should be fine. There is a very small risk of becoming pregnant while on birth control pills, so it does happen - but again, very very small risk. I've personally never had an issue and have only met two girls in my lifetime on BC who got pregnant (and one of them were very inconsistent/sloppy with their pills).

  • Birth control is supposed to be effective over 99% but there has been cases of pregnancy anyways 😂
Technically, she shouldn't get pregnant, but to be 100% sure, use condom.

  • Yes. If she forgets to take a pill that day, or she's on anti-biotics, or a bunch of other reasons, the pill won't protect you. If she seems undisciplined, forgetful, or sketchy, I'd recommend keeping condoms.

If she's cool, groovy, trust-worthy and wouldn't carry an unwanted baby to term, then you might be able to have more pleasure without condoms.

It's good to have the discussion of what to expect with an accidental pregnancy BEFORE it happens so you can be on the same page.

  • Yes. The pill is only 97% effective (ballpark figure, you can google it). It can also be affected by certain other medications she may take (as I have found out recently, but that's a whole long other story...)
Chances of pregnancy are low, but there is still a chance.
