Can sperm travel through clothing and result in pregnancy?

Can pregnancy occur from dry sex? If a guy and a girl were to be "grinding" on each other's private parts (imitating sexual motions while fully clothed with the girl straddling the guy) while the guy was wearing cotton briefs and jeans, but the jeans may have been pulled down, and the girl was wearing cotton leggings and cotton panties. Is it possible for any sperm to get through these 3-4 layers of clothing and fertilize an egg? Also, how can the girl know for a 100% fact that she is not pregnant before a missed period. (if at all possible) If it matters, I am a 16 year old female and over weight (200lbs and 5'4"), which I heard may make the girl less fertile and my partner is 17 and a healthy weight. Also, the girl was on top, so does that make pregnancy less likely? I'm very confused.. Thank you very much!

  • It is possible for a female to become pregnant without vaginal penetration, if a male ejaculates on the external genitalia. Sperm would need to travel all the way to the egg to fertilize it and the farther away they begin their travel and the more obstacles that are in the way, the lower the chances are for a pregnancy to result. The odds under the circumstances you describe are infinitesimally small, but not zero.

    "How can the girl know for a 100% fact that she is not pregnant before a missed period?" The only way to know for sure is to not engage in sexual behaviors. Home pregnancy tests are not considered accurate until at least one week after a missed period.

  • I think it's possible. My one teacher told me that she knew of a woman who was morbidly obese, her husband came inside of her thighs and not her vagina, and she got pregnant. He didn't even break her hymen. So anything is possible.

  • Sperm dies if not matchin an environment suited for itself (vagina)... it can lives a few seconds in hot water... it won't pass any surface and even when it enters in contact with the air, it dies. Dont worry :)
