If the sperm has been in your body for more than a couple hours its too late to try killing them with spermicides as they've already reached your ovaries and fallopian tubes. The sperm can wait in your ovaries for 3 days if an egg isn't present before they die off and spermicides won't be able to reach them since they don't travel like sperm do. Your best bet now as far as I know is to take the Morning After pill. The shock of hormones interrupts the fertilization process. If you're one of the unlucky few and fertilization happened while you slept you still have a couple days before the egg reaches your uterus and implants itself. The morning after pill can also help prevent the egg from implanting in the uterus.
Good news is the pill isn't that expensive and it's definitely worth putting down for when you compare the risk of not using it. The world doesn't need more unwanted babies.2 0 0 0the morning after pill is about $50 ...
That's cheaper than a nice dinner.
The pill, by itself (assuming it's taken properly and you haven't taken antibiotics or other medications that counter-act it), is already over 98% effective. Nothing else you can do at this point is really going to up that number enough to be worth doing. Even adding the condom doesn't bring that percentage up to 99%, though of course, you need it for protection against STDs, so it has a use beyond pregnancy prevention.
The whole idea of the pill is to be able to have sex (including without condoms) without getting pregnant. And it works, unless you skip whole days taking the pill, or take meds that screw it up.
You'll be fine.1 0 0 0

You can try- if any sperm are still in your vagina and still alive, it wouldn't hurt- but it probably won't prevent pregnancy, since spermicide works by killing sperm before they can enter your cervix. Any sperm that might have gotten inside you have had plenty of time to do that. Since you're on the pill, don't panic- you probably won't get pregnant. And you should give yourself a pat on the back for using multiple forms of protection in the first place. But if you're really worried, consider Plan b or Ella emergency birth control. These will prevent a pregnancy from occurring, but will not act as an abortion if you have already conceived (which is unlikely).

If you're on the pill and take it properly, you should be fine. Spermicide only is effective before the semen reaches the cervix. If you haven't been taking your pill properly and are worried, go with Plan B. You can get it at a sexual health clinic or a pharmacy for about 40 bucks (sex clinics are usually cheaper).
1 0 0 0sperm can live for upto 72 hours in the right environment, you can take the morning after pill upto 72 hrs after unprotected sex. The pill is not 100% effective as no method is
0 0 0 1I know... that's why I was wondering if a spermicidal jelly would work since it is still within 72 hours. I am on the pill religiously...

1 3You cannot use it at this point. It's for killing the sperm upon contact. They're far inside of you now. Perhaps making their way down your Fallopian tubes to meet your ova right... about... NOW! Good luck to you :P
0 0 1 0If your on the pill shouldn't you be fine?
1 0 1 1I hope so... but still want to take any precautions I can...
I guess.
You might be to dumb to have sex. Please re-consider future encounters.
1 0 2 1She used birth control AND a condom, and now that the condom broke, she's smart enough to ASK how she can take further precautions. What exactly is dumb about this? One isn't born knowing how spermicide works. Come on.
No! If anything, probably a plan B.
