Circumcision: Legal Mutilation Of Male Genitalia

As you could possibly tell by the titile and my photo I am very much against the idea of circumcision, and truth be told up until recently I was totally for it. I never bothered to do much research or out any thought into the subject but now I have an I just feel like sharing my ideas, I hope I can make at least one person further seek the truth and learn more about the subject.

So here's some arguements and my refutes for them. Some of them I'll try to include facts, but its hard to find.

Cutting the foreskin off greatly reduces the chances of getting HIV/AIDS/other sexual transmitted dieases etc, and lowers the risk of penile cancer.

Here are some things straight from that article in case you can download PDFs or dont wanna read:

protection. The authors of the AAP report forget to stress that responsible use of condoms, regardless of circumcision status, will provide close to 100% reduction in risk for any STD."

"This evidence, however, is contradicted by other studies, which show no relationship between HIV infection rates and circumcision status.10 However, there is no evidence that circumcision,
whether in infancy, childhood, or adulthood, is effective in preventing heterosexual transmission
in countries where HIV prevalence is much lower and routes of transmissionare different, such as Europe and the United States. Sexually transmitted HIV infections in the West occur
predominantly among men who have sex with men, and there is no evidence that circumcision offers any protection against HIV acquisition in this group.11,12"

There's no logical reason how cutting off part of the body will prevent infections to that area. I get frequent ear infections, and sinus infections. Should I cut off my ears and nose? No. As for smaller infections such as yeast infections, the man can handle it the same way as we woman do. Get some cream or a pill and no sex for a few days.

Cutting off the foreskin makes the penis cleaner (ex. smegma, smell) :

What about this radical invention called water? or soap? I know its a shocking thing that some people haven't discovered but trust me it works. I don't think I could really provide facts for smelly, unclean dicks. Other than, my partner is intact, its very clean, doesn't smell, etc. You know why? He cleans it.

As far as baby boys being unclean, the foreskin doesn't separate easily until the child is of age to be able to clean himself. So you mommys dont have to worry about the extra step.

The foreskin is actually useless:

to serve as an aid to penetration.
to reduce friction and chafing during intercourse.

to contact and stimulate the G-spot of the female partner.

The foreskin is basically a sheath, like on a sword. Think of a sheath, it protects the sword, no? so the foreskin protects the penis.

And sexually its a huge benefit. As a human sexually active female sex with all my cut partners has hurt without extra lubrication. with my cut partner i dont need all that drama because his foreskin is basically lubricant. and its a very senstive area. i play with his foreskin during foreplay if that says anything about its sensitivity.

And this sensitivty is actually the man reason circumcision became cool.

Old religious cereal tycoon John Kellogg hated sex, and masterbation, knew the foreskin was a hot spot and figured if you kill it you kill pleasure.

Any uncircumcised guy should appreciate the fact that he possesses all of his original nerve endings. Now just keep the area clean.. remember to wash every day with soap and water. It's a smart move to use one of those antibacterial penis health cremes too.. this will cut down on leftover bacteria and decrease the chances of odor or infection. Hope this helps!

Ugh. I can't post links but it is reported that circumcision decreases the risk of getting an STI 50 percent. That is assuming, though, that the male is going to be a promiscuous person who doesn't want to wear a condom.

I've also been told that it hurts worse and is more expensive when men get it done earlier (I can't post links, but I'll bookmark this question).

It IS the parent's right and does not leave most children completely mutilated unlike FGM. I do wish that parents would choose to let their children have the choice.

I do think it's idiotic for such choices to be made based off of aesthetic/religious reasons though.

All in all, I support it for the fact that it reduces risk and it's up to the parents, but I will not ever have my sons go through it

Most people don't have the stomach to watch or perform surgery, the reason why circumcisions are performed on newborns is because that's the best age to perform one. If you are an adult male who would require a circumcision some time in your life due to medical reasons, it's worse to have the procedure as an adult. More recovery time, more risk, etc. It's simply done as a preventative surgery. Also, there are regions in the world where water and soap are not as abundant, so hygiene issues do become a factor. Personally, I'm glad I was circumcised. You don't remember the operation, it doesn't impair function of the penis, and also there are different methods for circumcision. His looks like the old school way, I'm pretty sure most hospitals use a clamp method or something. Either way, it's actually a very minor surgery.

7. Underneath the foreskin - just like inside the vagina - there is its own bacterial benefical fauna

8. "Circumcision also makes it easier to keep the end of the penis clean." - That is utter bullshit. Every intact penis is easily cleanable by simply pulling the foreskin back. And frankly - you dont want to be with a guy who is incapable of properly cleaning himself no matter if cut or uncut.

9. There is not a single country out there who does female genital mutilation but not male circumcision. male circumcision potentially layers the foundation for female genital mutilation.

10. It is comparable with removing the clitoral hood. You want your clitoral hood removed because it might be a bit cleaner despite all the risks? No? Then why do you want to justify it done to guys?

11. Infant circumcision rates are higher than 10% in the following nations: USA, Israel, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Republic of Congo, Eritrea, and Kenya.
Definitely role-model nations we got there.
