To me, that's the sort of stereotype one should have about married English couples who have been together too long.
I think it's a John Cleese movie (Clockwise, A fish called wanda maybe?) where he's in bed with his wife missionary style, and they're making these tiny thrusting movements, and she's going "Oh, I rang the builders the other day. They said they can come around on Tuesday." that sort of thing. And they have this really mundane conversation about chores.
And then at some point she goes "Was that you?" and he goes "Yes dear". And she says "Well, that was lovely." and gets off him, picks up her book and starts reading again.
I can't imagine a more passionless way to have sex.
Even if she lay unmoving, I could at least pretend she was a corpse and have some kinky necro play. But do not talk to me about your day, or mention that you ran into your mother. Or my mother. No f***ing mothers should feature in conversation during sex...
