Dildo or butt plug - which is best for anal masturbation?

Guys and girls - in your experience, are dildos or butt plugs better for anal masturbation? Any other feedback you can give on this topic is appreciated.

Butt plugs are designed to go in and stay in for a while... they have a taper to them which keeps them in place, and 'base' to prevent them from going all the way in.

Dildos are designed more for movement, and you will be holding it rather than leaving it in place. However, some have a wider base, which might be helpful. For instance, you can get the kind with the realist penis shape, including the balls, which will prevent it from sliding all the way and getting "lost". Of course, you can also use a vibrating dildo for anal play.

I mean, I'm just guessing at all this, of course... ;)

Start with a small butt plug and then try a bigger one! After that, as long as you are gentle and learn properly you should try all sorts of anal toys, they are great!!! Trust me!!! When my girlfriend bought me a small butt plug I didn't relish the thought of using it. But now I love them!!!

No personal experience but ... If you want in and out sensation, you want a dildo, if you want a passive stretch while you masturbate in front, you want a butt plug. At least, that's my understanding.

never tried a butt plug but i have tried 2 dildos one thin 7 inch but not smooth kind of veins texture and the other one is smother but 8 inch 6 inch girth and surprisingly it was more comfortable than the thinner one , my advise : dont buy veiny dildos for anal, choose a smooth thick and not too long !

I prefer dildo over butt plug. There's a stereotype that if a guy likes anal stimulation he must be gay.  That's not the case.  The male g-spot is in the anus.  However I use a smooth dildo.  I would start off small then work your way up.
