Do guys always carry condoms on them?

I was making out with this guy the other night and it was getting pretty serious. He asked if he should get a condom and I told him yes, and to my surprise he pulled it right out of his pants pocket. We didn't plan on sleeping together at all, or at least I didn't. So I was extremely surprised when he pulled it right out of his pocket; I expected him to at least go get it out of his jacket pocket or something. So did this guy come to my place with the intention to sleep with me, or do all guys carry condoms on them just in case?

If I'm going on a date, I carry condoms. That doesn't mean I'm planning to have sex - it certainly doesn't mean I *expect* sex - but it means that I'm prepared. It's the same reason there's a backpack in the trunk of my car with several changes of clothes, food, water, first aid kit, tools, etc. I don't expect to need it - but it's there in case I do.

Obviously, if I'm going on a date, then the chances of getting laid are far higher than, say, if I'm going to work. Thus, it makes more sense to carry them on my person when on a date, then when going to work.

Note: condoms, much like food, do not last long in a hot environment like a car trunk, and don't hold up well to wear (like it would get in a wallet or pants pocket), so consider any condom so carried to be a short-term, frequently replaced item. I replace the condoms in my trunk bag at least twice a year, and if I carry a condom and don't use it, I throw it away after a couple of carries. Condoms are cheap - pregnancies and STDs are not.

you never know when the the chance of sex comes up, so its better to have one than to have none. condoms can be kept for a really long time, so guys just buy a pack and keep them with them and if they go out on a date or something they just keep a couple condoms with them for should the possibility of sex ever arise you never know when it does, sometimes its not even planned, but having condoms with you regardless if you are going to have sex or not is always a good thing.

Sounds like he intended on hooking up. I know a lot of guys usually keep one in their wallet, but definitely not their pocket unless they knew they were hooking up.

Some guys carry them around with them. That said I would not trust those guys and also there is a fairly large risk that they will damage the condom by carrying it around all the time be it in the pocket or in the wallet.

Yes if I'm going over to a girls house or ganging with one and we like each other yoh betcha. More as a safety night than anything lol. In case you do get in the moment yoh have one and you don't need to stop and ruin the moment. Its not like we planned to have sex but to be prepared cuz its gonna happen some time.

All SMART guys carry condoms. What would have happened if he didn't have one? Are you glad he had one? I've thrown out a lot of unused condoms (body heat from carrying them degrades them); but better safe than pregnant.
