Do men really carry condoms with them in their wallet or pocket?

Do most guys really carry condoms around with them even if they aren't having sex regularly?

  • Most guys I know seem to keep at least one on them at any given time. Hopefully not in their wallets though, because the heat and pressure of being confined in such a small place can degrade the latex and make the condom less effective. I always have at least one condom on me, in a safe place where it can't be damaged, and another stash at home. My boyfriend and I don't even use condoms anymore and haven't for a while, but they're always good to have on hand, like if I mess up on my birth control pills [very rarely, but I have missed a pill or two before], or am on any kind of antibiotics and need extra protection to compensate for the pill's decreased effectiveness. I also keep a packet or two of emergency contraception stashed away for those really desperate situations where accidents happen, courtesy of Planned Parenthood. Buying it from a pharmacy is expensive, but clinics like PP offer them for free, or at a very reduced cost. I always ask for some when I go in for my birth control refill packs, and they load you up with condoms regardless. Better safe than sorry. =]

  • i keep one in my wallet

and my wallet stays in my purse so I don't have to worry about it getting worn or too hot so that it breaks

    it's pretty safe in there

and it's nice to just know I have it in there

  • Well, hopefully they're not carrying them in their wallet, since that can make them more likely to break.

I carry one in my purse, whether or not I'm having sex regularly, because I'd rather be prepared.

  • Yes, just like you carry tampons in you're purse. Better safe than sorry. Even when I have a Girlfriend I keep one, just in case we decide to have a little fun somewhere besides my bedroom.

I actually suggest that all women carry at least one in their purse. My Girlfriend has saved me a few times when I needed one, either because I didn't have one or because the one I had broke, her having a back up was a life saver. Safe sex is just as much the girls responsibility as it is the guys.

  • I have a back-pack with a change of clothes and some basic toiletries (tooth brush/paste, soap, shampoo, Q-tips, tissues, etc.) that I take with me anytime there's a possiblity that I won't come home that night, and I have condoms in there. Normally, I'll just throw it in the trunk of my car when I go somewhere.

If the "need should arise", it's within easy reach, and I don't have to waste time going to the store, or having to suffer with a crappy brand.

  • i feel like that's more for show

  • Only guys not having sex... carrying it around in your wallet actually wrecks the dom, shouldn't use one that a guys has had in his wallet form months or years

  • seems a little weird to me, but it could be to feel more manly or something... lol

  • I don't nor do I get in bed with girls after parties. I look for girls that are so much more than meaningless flings when alcohol is in their systems. My style is asking her contacts in the end of the night and then call her the next morning to set up an official meeting in a restaurant. Then if I like her right after I call her for the real date. When the river of love starts flowing both ways then finding the methods and styles for making passionate love is the least of our problems.

  • Nope. Carrying "protection" means keeping one in the chamber at all times :D

    • oh so even if you haven't had sex in a while, you would still have a stash of condoms in your bedroom? they don't expire?

    • Sorry, don't know why the second part of my answer didn't get posted. I meant to say: but seriously, I don't compare condoms to guns when it comes to the argument of "rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it". I don't carry condoms because carrying one all the time can damage the material (the heat here is biblical). If I need a condom while I'm out, I find a grocery store or convenience store if I think things are going to escalate.
