Some of the ann summers' type stuff or the fetish gear is just plain embarrassing and the men really get the easy part, they don't have to humiliate themselves in that way. I mean, imagine you're trying to have a serious talk or arguing with your girlfriend wearing a frilly french maid's outfit - you'd feel f***ing ridiculous and it goes the same for us we don't get an instruction manual to go with this aspect of sexuality. There is nothing that can train you to wear it or how to feel/posture yourself when wearing it.
Most of the time it can be overwhelming that you have to wear this sh*t to fit a certain fantasy for men. In all honesty, if I don't feel like it I won't wear it, however if it's taken me two hours and cost a lot then I want to wear it and make the most of my purchases. I love trying on clothes anyway and it's my pleasure to spend the day getting and feeling sexy - but only as my own choice never at his request (you don't want to desensitise him after all).
Sexy lingerie is embarrassingly sexist at times, not only because you're dressing for a fantasy but degrading because it can be any woman wearing it and it'll have the same effect - so it standardises the sexes in that way. In all, I'll still wear it, sometimes it's beneficial to dress like a stupid slut and let your man enjoy you that way!0 0 0 1It depends on how you perceive it.
As a traditional feminist, I don't think lingerie is sexist. It's a form of clothing that I can choose to wear or choose to avoid. Personally, although I don't own any, I know that I will at some point. Because I can. I don't think it's at all sexist towards women--perhaps the industry is, but not the clothing. And as a woman, if I choose to put on a show and dress up like a sexual object, it doesn't mean I am one. It's a private, optional thing.
Actually, I kind of see the fact that men don't have as many options as somewhat traditionally "sexist" (I use that word loosely to make a point) towards men. You don't have as many open sources to attain lingerie as I do. I find it a little upsetting that men don't have as many options, and I think society is somewhat repressing a side of men that could very well exist simply because being a sex object is directly related to being a female. Men don't have that sort of sexual freedom, they don't have that choice. and even if they do online, they don't socially. That's not really very fair.
But that's my overly dramatic perception on men and lingerie.1 1 1 1Well put, though I'm not sure there's much of a market for male lingerie. By the way, a feminist in lingerie is probably the hottest thing on earth. Just saying.
Thanks :D If only I could afford a good set haha There isn't a market now because this sort of experimentation is discouraged among men for the sake of remaining traditional. I'm pretty sure if people started making sexy guy lingerie, all the girls (and guys) would be going gaga-- so guys would almost HAVE to start using it lol
You speak for me. =D I second every single thing you said.
Hell no. And personally I love wearing lingerie just for me, even if I'm just wearing a t-shirt and jeans but I've got beautiful lingerie on I'll feel that much better about myself, oh and I can't forget about a pair of high heels. I mean sure I'll wear it for a guy but it's mostly for me :P

I don't understand how it's sexist. Lingerie is usually tied to... behind closed doors or just between women themselves. Some women just like feeling sexy. There is nothing demanding them to wear such things, so it's hard to even call it sexist.
0 0 1 0They don't have a gun to their head to wear it.
And there's the whole supply and demand thing... If there is no demand, there is no supply because there is no money to be made.0 0 1 0

5 1Me personally I like it. It makes me feel pretty, like today me a my two closest friends went bra shopping at Victoria's Secret and Arie and had a lot of fun looking at and trying in all the pretty underwear.
0 0 0 1uhm, this is fuc.king retarded. you don't have a clue about women do you?
1 0 2 4Noo of course not haha! I love lingerie, it just makes me feel sexy.
0 1 0 1You bet :-)
I feel uncomfortable in it, it's like a costume, I rather just be naked.lol
1 2 1 1Really? a costume? lol. Well don't expect us to wear speedos then :-P
How is it sexist? It's not like ALL underwear is made to look super-sexy. If you want plain, no-thrills underwear, you can buy it. If you want the stuff that shows off your goods, it's your choice to wear it.
