I've been led to believe that if the guy is uncircumcised you don't need lubricant, or lotion or you just need a lot less of it. Though as ladsin said, some guys prefer dry handjobs. It might be a tad awkward or you can just sort of dribble (sounds weird) spit on his penis and not even have to stop going. It's all about preferences.

I'd say the majority of guys prefer lube, but there are always exceptions (my boyfriend hates it). I don't think it's very awkward to just be like, "Hey, wanna try some lube?" :P

If he's circumcised, ask him if he needs you to use lube or not. Most do use some form of lubrication.
