Those who are forced may see it as degrading whereas those who willingly choose to strip(a majority) may see it as doing what they have to do to get by or survive or even empowering.

Personally, I don't understand this whole idea of men viewing women as objects. Everyone is a sexual being, so sexual attraction is normal. The only time I think men can view women as objects is when individual men rape/abuse women and think women should keep mum and or have no place in society(basically believing they are inferior).
Strip clubs or not, guys are still going to think women are hot and are still gonna want sex.
A majority of men don't view women as simply an object to sex, as most man hating women would lead us all to believe.
I think it's moreso of the media portraying women as objects, objects who are either attractive or simply sexual.
I've only heard men say they are empowering, that is to try & justify their being. I know some women who work there who tell me that it's horrible & degrading to be there. That men & women degrade them for working there, and while working there.
Some of these women I know work there because it's the only way they can support themselves & their kids. They hate the way men treat them on the job. They hate the way people treat them when they know what they do for a living.
Some of them like the dancing only because they like dancing, but they do not like the fact that men think they are hookers and sluts who can be had for a price (or not), and can just get on them & talk to them & treat them anyway they want.
So to answer your question, I think they are degrading.
If you agree, do not go there.
It depends on the quality of the club and the women employed. I had a few friends who worked at various places. One really enjoyed her job and always thought she was taking advantage of men, while the other was very insecure and only did it because she could not get a job anywhere else. She hated it a lot. Personally it depends on womans own perception of herself. I have been to a few and I never really enjoyed the vibe but I do not think they are wrong.

Empowering? Only that for the strippers it's a job and it makes them money.
Degrading? No. Feminists may want you to think that. But the strippers are doing it voluntarily.

i think that any one who judges ANYONE needs to go jump in a lake. deciding to strip is a personal choice. Some people make tons of money doing it. if they dig it - fine. there are roads that stripping can take your life. some good some bad. But its a personal choice and its legal.
as for me I don't go anymore - TOO EXPENSIVE. + I don't need to hit the strip club. the strippers find ME.

Well men see women as objects anyways if they're going to strip clubs. At least, this way, they can let you see what you want plus more while taking your money for it. I think it's somewhere in the middle of degrading and empowering since no one is forcing (in most cases) these women to strip.
I think it can be empowering in the sense that women may feel like they have control over a man because they have the ability to affect him somehow, but it also makes them sexual objects, and nothing more. Overall, I think they're degrading.
I see it as just a job, something individuals sign up for and neither empowering nor degrading, but I think depending on the girl's perspective she could either feel empowered, degraded, or indifferent.

I think that people are taking things wayyy too seriously if they find strip clubs to be one or the other.
They are a place to have some fun. Strippers are just doing their job. You can't be degraded if you are doing something you chose to do.
I don't think it's degrading nor empowering. It's subjective, and really something that is really upto the stripper - cos at the end of the day other peoples opinions don't mean sh*t.
I don't think they're empowering, but I mean, do what you've gotta do. I don't have a huge problem with them, but I think it's pretty sad if that's your only option.
just a way for them to make money and to have bread on the table. nothing to empower since not many women want to do that for 'fun' and also not degrading if they are struggling to find a job and that's the only way they can get some money. economy is sh*t right now.

I used to think empowering, but I've watched so many of my friends get destroyed by stripping that I would definitely say degrading. Lots of untoward things go on at strip clubs too. There's a lot of prostitution, and two out of four girls I knew really well who worked as exotic dancers were hurt really badly by customers. Like, hospital bad.
That being said, there are some seasoned girls out there who just love it. If that's the case, then good for them. But the vast majority of strippers are young girls with Daddy issues who really need money and have no idea what they're getting into. It's sad.

I think, it is what it is. I think if the girls are okay with it then it is fine. Some women prefer it because it is the way they rather earn money. It's a woman's choice.

if she allows men to treat her like a piece of meat, that's what she'll be.
but if she shows that she respects her-self, everyone else will too.

It can get boring sometimes. And it doesn't always cheer you up when you're depressed. I went in with a sad look. Had my arms crossed. The lady on the stage mimicked me. It was slightly amusing I guess.
