Effects of sexual deprivation?

Effects of sexual deprivation?
After becoming a Christian sex outside of marriage is a no go since its a sin in My religion. I have devoted Myself to abstinence til marriage. I quit watching porn and all.

However, I'm getting really tired of not having a woman to be sexual with. It's affecting Me mentally. Masturbation isn't really working anymore either.

Masturbation can work well if I watch porn, but seeing the nakedness of others is a sin in My religion as well. I watched porn yesterday for the first time in like 7 months and felt terrible afterwards.

I can control My sexual urges really good, but I'm a bit worried My sexual libido can take a huge negative effect of not having regular sexual encounters over years.

Please give me a serious answer to wheather My sexual urges can be negatively impacted or not from sexual deprivation.

Thanks.

  • I have personally been deprived of sexual relations recently. I have been in the same relationship for almost 10 years. My partner and I have a child together and she became very ill from the birth. She is slowly getting better, but is no where near back to normal.

Sex is basically all I think about now and I have allowed it to affect my mental health. Slightly different situation for me, but I still feel the urge you are talking about.

I would say your sexual urges are absolutely impacted by deprivation, but I'm uncertain as to whether this is a negative impact. I can say we all have an instinct or need to eat, drink, sleep, and spread our seed. It's the way we are wired. The Earth wouldn't be so populated without these urges. It is a completely natural part of our lives. These urges can affect us mentally, but we do have the power to overcome our urges.

I'm not sure if I helped much here.
How might you think deprivation can impact our sexual urges? I know it is something we really can live without, but this is incredibly difficult to do - seemingly impossible at times.

  • It doesn't feel good because it's not natural. Even in biblical times people were having sex young (women being married off before they were 14 in most cases.)
That being said I don't think there'd be any long term effects. It'll just be uncomfortable, raise your aggression, maybe get less sleep? But nothing serious

    • Thanks. Because I was beginning to feel scare.

  • anything that hard you mentally, spiritually and physically is a sin... sexual deprivation causes more negative impacts in more cases than good. everything in moderation in my mind. Apologies, I'm rather spiritual not really religious although I grew up in an extremely religious household 😅.

  • Yeah it's a sin but what isn't a sin ya know? Like simply existing is pretty much a sin. you're gonna sin no matter what so do it in style

  • I'm a Christian too and I understand where your coming from. the answer in short is no, you will be fine. I would check out the book every young man's battle, it gives great insight into many of the things guys struggle with in this area. there is also the book every man's battle that is more focused on married men. stephen arterburn and fred stoeker are the authors.
a lot of people use sexual connection to fill a hole that only a relationship with Christ is ment to fill. so as far as being mentally affected I would advise seeking a closer relationship with God. read the bible, pray, open every part of your life to him including your sexual side. I know that seems strange, but he's the one who gave us our sex drive. you can talk to him about things of that nature or anything else your struggling with.
anyway I hope this helped and I will pray for you. and once again I would strongly recommend the book. God Bless :)

    • also one last thing if you slip up don't worry about it and just jump back on track, God's grace covers us as followers of Christ and children of God. that doesn't mean it's ok to mess up it just means if we do, God forgives and doesn't condemn. He knows our hearts and he loves us so much.

  • This might indicate that maybe a religion that makes you suffer so unnecessarily isn't something to be followed closely. Just a thought.

  • Funny you mention that because the less often we have sex, the less often I want sex and its harder to get aroused. We work busy schedules and at night I would rather sleep than have sex. I'm always good for oral to scratch her itch. On vacation we have sex everyday and I am horny everyday. FYI, you need an orgasm a few times a week for a healthy prostate. My spidey sense (no proof) says that there are health benefits to a woman masturbating regular when she is not having regular sex. Highly encourage both genders to do it early and regularly.

  • honestly I would simply try to stay busy. I'm in the same situation and staying busy helps a lot

  • Lol "it's a sin, it's a sin". Did you know having "impure thoughts" because of sexual frustration is also a sin? And you're doing that right now!

    Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!

  • masturbation

    • Lol.. yeah for you.

    • love you OP

  • Masturbate a lot.

    • Hardly works anymore.

    • I've had no sex in 5 years. Trust me, it will work.

  • You're 31. Simply find a woman you're compatible with and marry her! But search thoroughly, not desperately. Online or anywhere. The time is now. Do not stop focusing on other important goals as well.

  • If it makes you happy to not have abstain for religious reasons by all means but it seems it does not. Also having sex is sin and masturbating is not? I am not sure all that stuff is healthy and make sense but again I am not you

  • Why would you choose to believe in something that requires you to suppress the very things that make you alive?

  • nothing wrong with porn. but then your God doesn't want you to do porn, so good for you.

  • I have been celibate for 6 years (I'm not religious I just don't like meeting people) and my urges are largely unaffected.

try literature porn (I prefer it to video anyway, more stuff happens)

  • "seeing the nakedness of others is a sin"

Really? Check with your pastor/priest/reverend about that. If I remember my christian teachings, Onan's sin was avoiding woman just to spill his seed on the ground. Loving self-pleasure more than sex.

I don't remember anything about nudity being a sin to some observer.

    • It's moral sin to be looking at other people nakedness. It's their shame and lewdness as well.

I don't feel like posting scriptures, but you can look some here.

      https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Nakedness

    • Check with someone in authority - seriously. Don't believe everything you read online, since there's a lot of self appointed experts out there.

    • I can care less about what anyone else says. I just care about the Bible. I was just pointing you to the scriptures since I'm not going to post them. The only nakedness a man or woman can look upon for his or her sensual pleasure is their spouse only.

  • It's time a male sex drive killer , that does not have adverse effects & does not hamper the " male drive " to get things done , be developed , the sex drive is a huge curse for most younger men especially , women curse their periods , men curse their sex drives , at least women do not get sexually frustrated , they can happily abstain !!

  • 1. Masturbation is also a sin according to your religion.

    2. Sex and masturbation are natural occurring things and no matter how much your religion and its followers would like to deny that we are still animals and we come from nature. Abstinence from sex and masturbation will make us sick and, as you can see, it's inevitable. So why fight? Because your book wants you to deny it?
