Female orgasm overrated?

OK, so lets be honest, most of us have either watched some type of porn, or at least seen a movie with a sex scene in it or whatever. Anyways, I was just thinking that the female orgasm in most cases like this is overrated. I don't mean to offend any girls on here and not trying to say that the female orgasm doesn't matter or anything similar. What I mean is that, in these movies or what not, the female orgasm is always portrayed by "earth shattering", screaming orgasms. So opinions on this from guys and girls? Is it overrated or is it just me? Girls care to enlighten us all?

Best way to figure out if a girl is faking and orgasm or is really having one is "SEX FLUSH"

I think the word you're looking for is exaggerated.

But that's what porn is - an exaggeration. Even us guys can tell she's faking it. Conversely there are sites out there that specialize in showing real orgasms and you can actually see the contractions and the women react differently. It's so much sexier when it's real. Faking is even a turn-off in porn but it's almost funny because they do it so badly. It's so over the top you just have to laugh.

ive never got an orgasm from sex, nor simply being fingured. I can only remember one time that I could honestly say I had an orgasm, from a guy rubbing my clit. but it wasn't like in the movies, screamin uncontrolably.. I started breathing really heavy, my legs started shaking, I felt almost like I couldn't move or scream or do anything til it was over. it was amazing. but I wasn't sitting there screaming the whole time either, I think there exadurated in movies, but they are as goood as there made out to be, just not the same reaction in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more with the exaggeration comment towards movie, they defiantly are completely, my point was to get at how the real female orgasm compares to it. So you honestly think they are almost as "earth shattering" as they are made out to be, just with less exaggerated reactions? Or just they are great, but not the same as the exaggeration of them?

Never actually had an orgasm through vaginal intercourse so I wouldn't know. But I have with a guy rubbing my clit and basically I couldn't move leading up to the orgasm... I was shaking too. He could tell it felt good because he kept doing it faster. It felt so good I couldn't even think to scream... I just let out little moans every couple seconds.

I never specified which type of orgasm, considering that it's much easier for a girl to have an orgasm through clitoral stimulation. Regardless, so are you implying that they are everything they are made out to be? Or just saying that they can be very strong and powerful in general?

I really want to know what it's like through vaginal intercourse though. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting there and then... nothing. It's my fault though cause I think too much about having the orgasm than actually having it. I think the movies/porn also tell women that if they don't have an orgasm or it's not 'mind blowing', it's bad sex or something. So yeah I agree with you.

You know what, I can completely agree with you on that, society really does put a lot of pressure on a girl when it comes to the female orgasm. It's really stupid when you think about it, but sadly there isn't a whole lot you can do about how it is portrayed in society. You say it's your fault about not having a vaginal orgasm because you think too much. Yet research shows that the mind controls the body over all and should help you achieve orgasm if you clear your mind and concentrate on it.

As for the other part, I can't say that's what guys do, or well I don't personally. Who knows, that statement could be completely wrong, I'm just saying research has shown that the mind is able to control feelings like that. As well as I'm very open with my girl friends and have had this discussion, they both agree it's more of an intense feeling when they think about it

I have defiantly had some screaming orgasms. Not every time but defiantly enough to know that it can be as good as in the movies. Now do I think those women are having a really great orgasm right then probably not.

My point wasn't mainly directed at guys, rather girls and their feelings on the matter considering they are the ones it effects directly. Just wanted to see their opinions of comparing the actual pleasure of it, compared to an exaggerated one you would see for entertainment.

I definitely think the actresses overact the orgasm. I, personally, have never screamed or have heard of friends that say they scream when they orgasm. I think it may very well be better than the male orgasm; I've never seen a man shake and convulse like a woman can right before she orgasms.

Earth shattering? Definitely not. Very good? Absolutely.
