He should just leave it. Pubes are natural and they make the man ever so manly. Imagine you having no pubes at all, just like when you were younger, you obviously didn't get them for no reason? To me that would be a real turn off. Of course, if you have a girl who minds hair, you could so something about it, but if you don't hear girls complaining, keep it all natural :).
