yea it's awkward, but if you find a doctor you like it shouldn't be a violating experience. they see hundreds of vaginas all the time, and they try to be as quick and professional as possible. I personally found a male doctor I really like. the women doctors that I tried just kind of waltzed in there like they owned the place and when I described symptoms she seemed more judgmental and awkward comments etc. Guys are entirely more sensitive to the fact that they need to remain detached and professional, the conversation is strictly about what's going on in the exam, and male gynos are legally required to have a nurse or someone else in the room (although you can request this for a woman doctor also). Anyways, just something to think about.
1 1 0 0yeah I really think I might switch to a male doctor...the female ones I've had seem completely ruff and never really understanding...actually had one tell my by the way since Ur over weight I don't suggest having kids...fat women have horrible pregnancies...I'm not obese and ik lots of women who have extra weight and have wonderful pregnancies. I think all my bad experiences have just left me terrified to go.
I don't know of any country or state that has a law requiring someone else in the room. The requirement (when it exists) is usually from the hospital (clinic or whatever) as a matter of legal protection for them. Some facilities policies require they ask if you would like a "chaperon" in the room, but regardless, you should be able to ask for one any time you feel the need.
Everyone I been to has been a chick an I've never been asked of I want a nurse in there...u have to ask if you do yourself...but honestly I don't want another person in there seeing my chest and vag lol The only person I'd let in I can't...u just don't ask Ur boyfriend to go to the gyno with I to hold Ur and...he'd think I was a weirdo or puss.
My first time I was still a virgin. The doc didn't believe me. Kept explaining sex like I didn't know what it was. He asked me like five times if I had ever. I don't know y. It was a horrible experience. I never went back. A few years later that doctor was on the news being arrested for inappropriate conduct with patients.
Another doc told the intern to come look at my vagina cause there's a lot of mucus. I asked is that bad? He said no. It means your body lubricates itself verrrrrrrrrrrrrry well!
He was a little too enthusiastic about that.0 0 0 0Depends on the nurse or physician who is doing it.
I don't shake, no. The gyno doesn't freak me out that much.
The last nurse who did my pap scraped the heck out of my cervix and it hurt for 3 days afterward, I had cramps. I thought that was unnecessary for her to hurt me like that.
So yeah paps suck but they are infrequent so I just get it over with.

3 0Can I ask how did you find your gyno? Cause I need to see one but not sure how to go about it
0 0 0 0Yes, I do feel violated. Days afterward. The first time I went, I had to buy myself some goodies after to feel better. I haven't had sex in 2 years. I shouldn't have to get another exam after the first one until I have sex again.
0 1 0 0well I am sexually active...but ovarian cancer runs in my family it's imporant for me to go regardless of my sexual activities with my boyfriend. if Ur over 21 you should go even if Ur a virgin...cancer is not something to mess around wIth.
Uncomfortable yes. Violated no.
1 0 0 0Maybe violated wasn't the right word...but it just feels like such a private thing to show a doc and then they just poke and jab like it's no big deal.
I understand what you're saying.
