Guys - If you look at a girl's lips during conversation?

If you look at a girl's lips during conversation, are you thinking about kissing her or is it more like you want a blow job. I've heard different explanations (including "you have something in your teeth") so I just wanted to get as many responses as possible :)

I'm talking, like, staring deliberately at your lips when you're looking them in the face btw. Also, I get that there's not only one reason someone would do this - I just wanted to get a few personal opinions :)

  • ok there was this guy at work who used to flirt with me but it never went anywhere though I'm sure he wouldn't have minded having sex with me. anyway one time I was putting on chapstick around him and he told me I should stop because it's making him think inappropriate things.

    i never understood why...

then this other guy I was seeing..i put chapstick on around him and he said it's gross because he doesn't want anything on my lips.

  • What about just looking at your lip movements to easier hear what you say? Don't start to create a bunch of stereotypes for this. We already have to deal with girls misunderstanding us if we so much as stare out a window next to them (has happened to me)...

  • Most likely it means the guy is having trouble hearing what she says and is subcosiously lip reading to assist his hearing.

    • Fair enough, but if hearing's not an issue? Like in a quiet coffee shop?

    • Well, also not everything we do means something. That is a common mistake girls make, not everything has a hidden meaning. Hey radical idea, ask him why he is doing it? :)

  • It could mean any of those or mean nothing. Most of what guys do doesn't "mean" anything.

  • does not mean much - I look all over

    • if a girl has unusually pretty teeth and gums - or ugly - I'd catch myself staring sometimes

  • I heard somewhere that this supposedly helps you gain interest from the woman.

    • So would you say that's the reason you do it - to make the woman interested and not for any other reason?

    • I don't do that, I heard somewhere that it supposedly helps

  • Yes all that sexual connotations but it is also one of most sensual and visible parts a plump lip is very attractive and in a way reminds us of a nice engorged labia as well

  • To me, it means that she has nicely shaped lips that go well with her face.

  • Personally, I do it to show interest and flirt. Therefore id say if he's also showing positive body language then he's definitely doing it on purpose.
