Guys how would you react if your girlfriend started her period while sleeping over at your place?

I was spending the night with my boyfriend at his apartment and had less than a week ago finished my period so when in the middle of the night i got a horrible stomach ache and was only half way awake, I didn't consider i could be starting my period. The next morning i woke up with a dreading feeling mixed with horror that only comes when you realize you have
A. started your period bc in general those suck,
B. stained your pjs
and C. also stained the sheets... OF YOUR BOYFRIENDS BED!
this was followed by a rush of hormones and embarrassment mixed with god awful cramps and led to me sobbing uncontrollably, barely able to apologize profusely.

Just wondering from a guys perspective how gross is this, how mad would you be, and how would you react?

  • 1a. Tell her this is not a problem... just part of life.
    1b. I'd send her off to the shower. Wash off the evidence and some guilt. Should take her time.
    2. Off come the affected sheets and cold water rinse the affected sheet, PJS and, if present, stained skivvies.
    3. Locate a button front cotton shirt... long tails, etc. Have her wear it after her shower.
    4. Locate my smallest pair of cotton briefs for her to wear.
    5. Presumably she has no supplies. Properly folded paper towels will work when needed and restrained by my briefs when needed.
    6. Pull out the handy maroon beach towel.
    7. Have sex with her after het shower.
    Been there.

  • It's not gross and it's not a big deal. That's happened to girls who've slept in my bed before and I always assured them it's not something to be embarrassed about. The thing I hated the most about it was the fact that they were so apologetic and embarrassed. Girls don't ever have to apologize for their periods.

    • But I mean it is super mega embarrassing to have bled through, and then with ur boyfriend, and then on something of his which we don't know how guys feel about recycled blood that the uterus doesn't want anymore so you understand where we would feel embarrassment right? it plus regardless of how, ur sheets are ruined at our hands, and that is something no one wants to wake up to so that's were apologetic comes in.

    • Thank you for MH Guy opinion! I so understand why girls would feel embarrassed. All I was trying to say is that a guy in that situation needs to be understanding about those kinds of things. It's a normal part of a girl's life, and a guy shouldn't make a big deal out of it. It's just really important to reassure the girl that she didn't do anything wrong and that she doesn't need to feel ashamed or anything like that. :)

  • I wouldn't be mad AT ALL, I'd just hug her. This is something natural, so men who freak out over this are not ready for relationships.

  • Its a natural thing so id probably just try to not make it a big deal and ask if she is feeling okay from time to time, just treat her good clean the stuff and just make her laugh and stuff.

  • I would not be horrified or offended. Its a natural bodily function and I know it can be unpredictable. Honestly I would ask if she wanted me to go pick up tampons, and offer to wash her pajamas. I know it can be an awkward, but I'd do my best to make her not feel awkward.

  • From my perspective it is not gross or a big deal. It is a normal body function. Did you have rough sex the night before that may have triggered it early? Anyway, I would offer to help change the sheets (if he was cool about it he would say no way I'll take care of it) and move on. Do not be embarrassed.
