You do not owe anyone sex, ever, but by exchanging a monetary agreement to provide sustenance a man is implicitly trying to demonstrate his worth as a sexual partner by being a strong provider. It's no different than buying gifts, buying your tickets or taking you out shopping for new clothes - he's merely enacting a several billion year old ritual to attract your attention solely on him with trinkets.
That is not to say that [one free meal = BJ], or [one free meal at a super expensive restaurant = sex on first date], but if he's taking you out on dates that's what he ultimately wants from you. However if you don't ever want sex with that person (thus you are not attracted) just don't go on anymore dates with that individual.

When I take a date out for dinner is to have her for company, talk with her about things, so we can get to know each other, or if it's a girlfriend already that might be different. But you do things like hit a movie, than a nice romantic dinner, your planning the event out that's not buying sex with dinner though.
