It definitely still exists. It's more prevalent in some ethnic backgrounds than others, but there are a lot of guys that at least have a lot more hair on them than the guys you see in movies, on tv, and in ads. There are some guys who are naturally hairless outside of head, pubes, and pits, but most guys you see in media have been waxed, or lasered, or photoshopped. The standards aren't quite as unrealistic as they are for women, but they still don't reflect reality.
I'm about as hairy as you describe yourself (although it's blond hair, so it's a little different). For a while, I went through a lot of effort to get rid of all the hair. It would take forever, but I thought it was what women expected. As I got a little older, I decided that I liked my chest hair, and I didn't care what anyone else thought about it. I discovered that a lot of women liked it too. It's soft, and fun for them to drag their fingers through when cuddling. I still at least trim down the belly hair and go through many steps to remove the hair from my shoulders and back, mainly because I like the way those parts look when they're smooth. But women of a certain age (mid-20s, at least) understand that men are hairy by nature and that not all guys look like Calvin Klein ads.
Yaa? I have almost 2 inches curlish hairs on my torso wall to wall. Yours? You shave belly but leave chest? Sounds weird.

I can't say that I've actually measured it, nor do I feel the need to. I'm pretty hairy. I don't shave the belly, but I trim some of it down so it's more tapered. It creates more of a V shape, which I prefer. I didn't say that women have admitted love for it, but my girlfriend likes the chest hair, and doesn't particularly care either way about everything else. I think she'd prefer that I have some body hair rather than be totally smooth because it is more of a masculine look.

I guess so, in my family though it's not.. I guess it's genetic, all I have is a palm tree on my chest and stomach.. no hair on arms or back.. I feel like such a girl sometimes.

I personally like a guy wth little to no hair. But that may just be the Asian in me. I wouldn't turn down a guy because he is hairy though. I just have a preference for guys with little to no hair; legs can have hair though.
Okkay. Hmm ya Asian men don't even have much leg hairs. Lucky men, I guess. Even I wish I was naturally hairless. But sadly am not that way. :(

I can roll with whatever a guy has as long as he realizes females are human too and we do a TON to make guys happy and aren't naturally the way guys prefer. It's really annoying.
As a very hairy guy I DO realise and even like female body hair. I would never want and expect a girl to be all bald smooth shiny every second. I would even appreciate her natural hairiness / fuzziness. But would she be at least ok with my furriness am not expecting her to find it sexy and appealing :/
