How can I feel less horny?

so this may sound like a weird question but I'm 21, still a virgin (family taught me that way through religion) and recently I just feel constantly turned on. I have the dirtiest mind ever and really anything can turn me on , at any moment. I don't want to sleep around so I try to keep it to myself and "satisfy" myself but I'm afraid I might be way more horny than I should be normally. And even when I feel sort of satisfied it all comes back again soon after... I've been in touch with my libido since a really long time now (ever since I'm a teen?) but the past two years it just went out of proportion... Is it normal to feel this way? Or is it some sort of sex addiction (though I don't actually have sex) hidden by the fact that I have been raised not to sleep before marriage? I neve had a problem with that before, honestly I think some is healthy even but now it has reached a point where I have a hard time concentrating and controlling myself.. How are things lkely to evolve once I'll do it for the first time?

  • What you are experiencing is normal. I am 28, super virgin and I have never been on a date because I am following strict celibacy. Because of this, I never asked any girl out. However, my level of celibacy is a little bit extreme. I don't like to brag about myself but even in my country guys following strict celibacy as mine are very rare to find. But you must be dating someone, right ?

    Even in my family I was raised not to have sex before marriage. Now because we don't have sex, we keep on thinking about sex all the time because your body is completely ready for having sex.     What you have in your mind is just an insecurity. Insecurity can be dealt with by having positive thoughts running constantly across your mind. And religion teaches us that positivity, remember. It is completely natural to have such thoughts sometimes every second of the day.

  • I completely and utterly respect your religion and your views so don't take the following the wrong way. I really don't understand why people restrict their basic, most human and natural desires. Yes, discipline is good. But in the end aren't you risking much much more by holding out? Its not wise putting your eggs all in one basket is a term I would refer to in this situation. You do not have a sex addiction you are however, a human. A human who, under restrictions such as these and even more so, under restrictions such as these with the undying desire to break free from them will only lead to you straying from your path of celibacy. I have no right and I am in no way advising your stray from your beliefs I'm just adding my thoughts on the matter. And although I have not answered your primary question, I believe you already know what my answer would be. As for your final question, things like that can not be foreseen by others, do you think the desire will fade after you have sex? That's more something you can only answer.

    • Patrick: On occasion, I have the desire to beat the snot out of someone who deserves it, but I restrain my natural desires for a variety of reasons. Should I let go control of my suppressed natural desire to beat someone and do it? Of course not! We have to overcome these desires on occasion for our greater good. From a practical perspective on sex, you are avoiding negatives (STDs, unwanted pregnancy) and from relational perspective you are avoiding the emotional side affects of premarital sex.

  • You sound like a normal 21 year old. I waited until I was married before having sex, but the temptation was certainly strong, especially dating my to be wife for about 5 years. As hard as it feels, it really is worth the wait.
