Don't worry my first time the woman I was with couldn't handle it and we had to stop. This is perfectly normal. The only thing I can suggest is take everything very slowly, I'm assuming this is with a bf. He will understand if you explain that almost every womam's first time is god awfully painful. It took the woman I was dating 3 or 4 times before she was comfortable enough to do it without pain. If you fight through it it will get easier. I believe using ibuprofen or some sort of pain killer before hand should help :). It won't stop the pain but it will make it a touch easier.

When I lost my virginity it didn't hurt at all. It was just a bit uncomfortable at first and then it was better. But I'd masturbated with a vibrator a few times before so I don't know if that's what did it, or using tampons could have done it too.
Make sure you are properly lubricated. Spend PLENTY of time on foreplay. It's gonna hurt if you're not wet enough. And if you can't do that, there's always lube.
Make sure the guy is also going slow. You should go missionary you're first time, or maybe even cowgirl, cause then you can control how much of him you take in and the pace.
my first time hurt a lot too. I don't think there is much you can do about the pain but you can make it more comfortable for yourself. when your ready to try again; make sure your body is ready, and have some lube on hand. try loads of foreplay before intercourse, try with yourself on top. its going to hurt for a while, and to be honest it till hurts a bit when I have sex and I lost my virginity last year. your body will adjust and the pain goes away. though please make sure your using protection of some sort and have fun :)
honestly I think what made sex pleasurable for me was the fact that I became comfortable with sticking at least two fingers in.. before my boyfriend I couldn't do that... it might feel very uncomfortable at first but you'll get the hang of it... I also suggest that you don't do any positions with you on top.. for me that was more painful...
