I like it completely natural, unless you've got an "Osama Bin Laden's beard" situation going on. Definitely do not shave it. I've heard of some girls who like that, but it freaks me out. I've hooked up (not sex) with two guys who shaved their pubes and I thought it was really really weird.
Personally I like to feel some hair in that area. It's nice to see the penis and testicles shaved as it makes oral (bj) much more pleasant, but if the rest is nicely groomed it is fine.

Use scissors, preferably of the haircutting variety. They sell them at CVS and Rite Aid. Just be careful not to cut your skin.
Trim it. If you shave it will be creepy and scratchy, but if you leave it as is then it will get in a girl's way when she tries to give you a BJ.

But if you want to trim it instead, then try to shave some areas to make it look cleaner (but not all the way) and then take a pair of scissors and trim the remaining hair to a quarter inch. That's what I do, anyway.
