How many of you don't wear condoms and rely on the pull-out method, on a regular basis? And, for what reasons?

My boyfriend and I are both virgins and we are ready to be each others' firsts. However, I don't want to get pregnant right now and he refuses to wear a condom as he is worried about issues like it feeling like rug burn, being too tight and cutting off circulation, or him being allergic to it. He says he's heard these things from friends of his and that they all use the pull-out method and have been successful with not getting their girls pregnant.

  • Never rely on that. While in theory it's possible if you do it at the right time of the month to not use any birth control, it comes with a very high risk, particulary when your still quite young. Don't do that! Pull out method alone is most likley not gonna work if yout at a point your fertile.Don't do that either!

    Take birth control or make him wear a condom. Don't ever rely on that method

  • A lot of factors play into it. I don’t like the side effects and health risks associated with birth control. Boyfriend doesn’t like to wear condoms and my comfort level with him is such that pulling out just became routine for us. I know that he could get me pregnant at any time but we’ve been doing this successfully for two years, so it must be fairly effective.

  • Are you really stupid enough to believe him? Either use other means of ACTUAL birth control, not just "pulling out" or get ready to be a teenage mother. Or better yet don't have sex with him until he agrees to use condoms, and if he doesn't oh well-he's not getting any.

  • Condoms just plain suck. I'm not worried about disease with my girl, so it's the pull out method for us. I've been shooting on her belly for over 2 years and no baby yet, so it has worked for us.

  • Honestly, I've always relied on the pull out method and I've never gotten any girls pregnant. There were a lot of scary calls tho that we purchased the morning after pill so that may be why lol.

  • Then I'm afraid your boyfriend is not mature enough to have sex or face what consequences sex puts forward.

    Just because some people on here have played roulette with their health/pregnancy doesn't mean you should chance it.

    Start your sex life sensible and use a condom OR both get checked for STDs and when you know your clear, go on birth control. Even though your both virgins, still get checked if you've done oral etc.

  • Since I've been on the pill I've still had guys come inside me without a condom when they were supposed to pull out, so I'd never rely on the "pull out" method if I weren't on some kind of birth control...seriously.

Bottom line if a guy wants you bad enough he will put on a condom. Also its a good idea to buy your own that way theirs no excuse. Even though I'm allergic to latex I still make guys wear latex free ones called Bare.

  • The pull-out method is NOT a method of birth control.

    Use a condom and/or go on birth control. That's the only way to try and eliminate a risk of unwanted pregnancy.

  • Not me. Not only can you still become pregnant but it sure doesn't protect you from any STI's at all.
