How the hell does a real hymen look like?

im a virgin but when i look down there i dont see a hymen or maybe im not sure what it looks like cause i never paid attention in health class and i suck at determining a drawing of one... im asking this cause one day i was with my non virgin cousin and asked her if i could see her va jay jay cause i wanted to see what a experienced vajayjay looks like and i showed her mine first and she said mine looks way looser than hers and she was doubting my virginity... so im like stressed out cause what if my future husband doesn't believe im a virgin?

  • It's normal to be unable to see your own hymen. Usually a gyno has to be the one to find it. Plus, some have a large enough hole in them that they aren't very easy to spot.

    Virginity is NOT dependent on the presence of a hymen. There are tons of ways to break or stretch your hymen, from riding a bicycle to inserting a tampon (though it's also possible to use tampons without it affecting your hymen). Plus, some girls are actually born without a hymen. Does that mean they're not a virgin?

    Don't worry about your hymen. It's all a big foggy mystery. The only thing that determines whether or not you are a virgin is whether or not you've had sex- and you can define that in whatever way you feel comfortable with.

  • oh my god health education sucks okay, you can not determine virginity by looking at a vagina, a hymen is inside the vagina, and doesn't "Pop" like people think it does. Some girls will break if they aren't careful, but thats rare, and they can still heal. Being "loose" is not a thing. When having sex vagina muscles become looser to help with sex and then tighten up again afterwards. Look up the video, "the myths about the hymen"

  • There's a good chance your hymen was broken (or was never much there - some women don't have much to start with). Anything from horseback riding to stretching in the morning can break them :p

    (for some people. Some people, it takes 3 attempts at sex before it's broken. My girlfriend and I at the time would have preferred the other case)

    As for what it looks like, it's a thin, stretchy bit of skin over the opening. Not much help, right? ;p Your boyfriend won't mind if you don't have much of one. Less blood in bed is better!

And there are other ways to tell. Women who haven't had sex act different when they have their first time. Its not just whether or not they have a hymen.

  • It doesn't look like much. The hymen is never fully covering the entire vaginal canal. From birth, there's always a bit of a cut inside it. It only ever stretches after sex, never really breaks.

    Hymen's are broken doing plenty of thing other than having se, riding horse, playing sports, or using tampons for example.

    The Hymen is a muscle with women knowing more about their bodies they are less likely to have it broken even after having sex, that combined with inserting things like tampons. Muscles can also be different sizes and have different levels of flexibility.

    Don't worry about it, the guy you marry should believe you because he trusts you not because of misguided thoughts, that society has pressed onto him.
