I don't understand the whole hickey thing?

How is a hickey caused anyway? I know that is kissing but I still don't get it, someone care to explain?

Biting, more than sucking will cause the capillaries in the skin to break. Capillaries are the the tiny blood vessels in the skin. It's a bruise. Remember how if you fall or get hit you get a bruise? It's because capillaries break, causing blood to flood just under the surface of the skin, causing the mark. By biting and sucking you break the vessels and then pull the blood out close to the surface of the skin. The reason bruises/hickies are so dark at first is because that's before your body has had a chance to clear out the blood/cells that are pooled there. And as things get cleared up/the cells dye the color gets lighter and, eventually disappears. It's why bruises hurt, because you've broken open blood vessels.

I think you're overstating the importance of biting, it's perfectly possible to create a hickey without any biting.

Biting is just the fastest way/easiest way it happens. I personally hate getting them, it makes me feel trashy, and just sucking has never brought one up. So with my experience... I guess I've jsut got tough vein walls. Or something goofy like that. But yes, biting is not required.

Its when the person sucks on the skin, it breaks the little veins in your skin, and the spot goes red cause of that. I hate hickey's, they are gross when you think about it that way =/

When you suck hard on your skin (you can give yourself a hickey on your arm for example) you tear open a bunch of capillary blood vessels that start to leak out blood under the skin and create a small bruise.

It might seam cruel and such but remember your body is more then adept at repairing small injuries like that. So it does not create any problems at all except for a blackish area that fades after a time.

And also unlike normal bruises it does not really hurt when you touch it but it may even give enhanced sense of touch.

If you have good lips and can create really good suction, you can burst a few surface blood vessels and leave a light bruise.

sucking in the neck..result this huge..purple thingie..if its really good it will be black...and a hickey really means A COCKBLOCK!
