I keep hearing my brother having sex, advice?

My brother recently moved back in and so comes along his girlfriend. They live in the basement. I didn't really mind at first but lately I keep hearing them doing the "nasty" and I don't know what to do. It makes me feel uncomfortable and awkward. I believe that things like that should be done when no one is around so that people don't hear you. I think its disrespectful as well. I know that they don't have any where else to do it but at the same time when she's here I don't get any sleep. On night I only got 2 hrs of sleep. Just the awkwardness makes me not sleepy I guess. What should I do?

Telling your brother might not change anything.

Telling his girlfriend can cause her to be embarassed about being heard, and she might keep things more quiet.

But please, while talking to them, don't use euphemisms such as "doing the nasty", because it makes you sound immature and childish, so they might not take you seriously.

Say "have sex" instead of anything else. There's no reason in running away from certain words. They all mean the same thing.

Haha. That has happened with my brother and his girlfriend. I just text him "shut up" and they get the hint. Can you just...joke about it somehow so it's not too awkward for you to actually confront him? Or text him while it's happening and play dumb like "what are you guys doing? Can you be quiet I can't sleep" hahha

I did this actually, we were in a hotel and they made my mom by a hotel for them so they could have their privacy so I knew what that meant. I heard her and the bed was knocking against the wall where mine was so I text her and she lied and told me they were watching some show.

Mind Your Own Business. It's not even her house, she has absolutely no say in the matter. They are a couple, they are going to have sex. I doubt it's even loud. They're in the basement.

I do mind my own business. Its not my fault that I can hear them from my room when I am trying to sleep. Its also not fair that I have to deal with something like this in the place that I am supposed to be most comfortable. It would be different if I heard a friend but being that its my brother it makes me really awkward

Lol I do have a fan running actually. Still can hear them. I understand they don't have any where else they can do it, but all I ask is that they be mindful and try to be a little more quiet. Otherwise I have no problem with it... long as I can't hear them

I still think they'd have to actually be trying to be noisy for you to hear them from in the basement with a fan running. Bottom line, what they are doing is perfectly normal. My advice to you is to get over your hangup. : D

I think its Just funny because I know if it was me who was having sex then everybody would be upset and complaining but since its them its a whole different story... I guess I will just have to learn how to deal. ugh

tell her not him. she will be embarassed enough to make a change and be way more quiet and or do it at another time or place.

I'd say that I can't sleep. If they are polite and considerate, they'll find a solution. Just let them know.
