I'm loud in bed and my boyfriend is not. Am I too over the top?

When we're alone with no chance of getting disturbed, I let myself go completely so I moan a lot and I'm pretty vocal about what I like and what I want. My boyfriend is more shy in that regard so the most he does is tell me I'm doing something great or that something feels good and bite my lip hard when it's getting intense. I'm wondering if he might think that I'm overdoing it, but at the same time I think any guy would love his girlfriend to give that much feedback and to make some erotic noise. What do you think? (Of course I'm completely quiet when I have to, that's not a problem.)

  • Women feel twice the shock, as the body prepares itself for maternity. Male instinct during sex is about the mechanical, about building up pressure, like with a teapot. Female instinct is about absorbing everything.

As long as neighbors aren't disturbed by it, I really don't care if my future girl is noisy or quiet. As for verbal feedback...that might help a lot. It's a myth that you're supposed to stare blankly into each others' eyes. Real relationships require verbal communication; even during the deed.

  • In my opinion I like the middle ground. If the girl is too loud its kind of a turn off. However, if she is too quiet (unless circumstances call for quiet, in which case there are other ways to show the passion) I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Telling your partner what feels good or guiding them in that direction is never a bad thing, it gets the sex to great sex a lot faster without most of the trial and error. Also if a girl is too loud I'm going to be less inclined to believe that the pleasure is genuine.

What Girls & Guys Said

  • Mostly we guys love it when girls make realistic noise. But who knows what your boyfriend's tastes are, so ask him. You might also ask him about his silence. Would you like it if he were more vocal?

  • He's not shy. He's male.

There is actually a theory that women make a lot of noise during sex because during most of our evolution, it drew other males who would fight over her.

Males are silent for the exact same reason.

Anyway this is normal. Relax and moan/shout away.

  • As long as neighbours aren't knocking on your door, it's fine lol. Guys generally don't make much noise as far as I know.

  • I don't mind if she's loud, as long it doesn't sound like she's faking it.

  • Are you too over the top? not at all.
