I took my birth control backwards! Help

Today was my start day, and I went to go take the pill, but did not realize that the pack was up side down so I ended up taking the last pill of the month in stead of the first pill. What should I do just discard the first pill and then tomorrow take second and continue as normal or discard whole pack and start a new one next month? what do you think ? Thanks

  • Just start taking the right pills. It doesn't really matter if you take the first one and start now, or if you take the second one and continue on. Most pills come with directions, but google the directions for your type of pills and it will tell you exactly what to do. Sometimes it will have you just take both of the pills at the same time then move on.

Usually missing one pill is not a big deal as long as you follow the directions and keep taking them.

  • Go ahead and take the first pill anyways. It should say what to do in the instructions. Usually the last week pills don't do anything so its okay to take the first day...Call a pharmacy just in case

  • depends on what kind of pill you're taking. If you're taking the ones where you quit taking anything for a week it doesn't matter because all the pill are the same. But if you're taking placebo pills while you're on your period it may be a bit tricky. You should immedatley take the right pill.If you take it 24 hours after you should have, you should still be pretty safe, still use a condom for the next week or so

  • So that just means you took a placebo pill, right? It's not a problem, just take the pill that was supposed to be the first.

  • youll get pregnant 100% if you take them that way

    • No sh*t..

  • The last pills are placebos. It'll be as though you forgot to take your pill. Call your doctor, just so (s)he knows, but you're fine. (S)He'll tell you to take the first pill tomorrow like normal.

  • Lol you're f***ed. :)
