Coming from someone who is used to spending time around nude models, it's not something that happens constantly, but it does happen. It's natural, especially when you aren't used to being naked in front of people. As you get used to it, it will probably happen less. And it's natural. Artists who are painting nude models are meant to create a respectful atmosphere for the model. Don't worry about people's reactions. Just relax and try to ignore it. That's preferable to moving because moving will disrupt your pose and interrupt the artist's focus.

I am a life model , I stay in the pose when erection happens because stopping the pose would disrupt the drawing to many times.
