If someone raped you, would you kill them?

Do you think it is wrong to kill the person who raped you and do you think it should be punishable? Girls and guys can answer this..b/c guys can get raped too.

    I think killing is wrong, in any situation. Killing is always evil, it may be a necessary evil at times, but it still evil (impo). As far as punishment goes - any punishment really - I think we as humans are too focused on revenge. Two wrongs still don't make a right, and punishment for the sake of punishment is not justice. I do think it is important to protect society and individuals from people that would harm them. But I also think it is the responsibility of the criminal justice system to sort out people who are truly threats from the people who are not; it is their responsibility to provide therapeutic support to people who can recover and become law abiding citizens and to confine indefinitely people who prove to be a danger to others without legal supervision.

    We all have choices, and we all have to face the consequences of our actions. Being a victim of abuse does not change this. I would not expect a child who was molested at five and who grew up to become a serial rapist to be excused from the crimes he committed against others merely because a similar crime was committed to him. At some point the cycle of violence has to end somewhere. It's not about punishment or blame, but creating a society that we can live in cooperatively. It's about making choices, suffering clear and consistent consequences, and having the opportunity for redemption. Or at least, that is the ideal any way.

  • when I was younger I always swore that if I got raped I would kill them, then it happened to me last October it was an ex boyfriend of mine. I didn't report it but I was so angry, I formulated a plan in my mind of how I was going to knock him out with chloroform then carve the word rapist into his head with a razor blade then salt the wound so it scars. only problem is where the hell do you get chloroform? I looked it up online they do not sell that stuff commercially. plus I would get charged with assault. so I just put an embarrassing picture of him on a web page. a bunch of people commented and made fun of him so I kind of felt better. plus a couple months later he apologized to me genuinely apparently he felt terrible about it he even started rubbing my hand and stuff so I forgave him. If it was anybody else besides him though I might be serving time as we speak.

    but no, I wouldnt, I would think of him as scum and I'm sure someone I told would kill him for me through anger but no, I really don't think people like that are worth it. I don't think they should get the death punishment either, that's an easy way out. I think cruel and unnatural punishment law should be abolished for rapists & I feel like they need to see what they did and actually understand/comprehend what their doing , these people aren't sane at all and I would just want them to be able to feel the pain I felt [ mentally]

  • If that happened to a friend of mine or my girlfriend I think my instinct would be to do just that.

    I've never been in that situation so one will never know.

    I do know that I would be there to protect her even if it meant sleeping in my car outside of her place.

  • Yes, I would kill them for being an individual that would do that. However, I would torture them before hand. An eye for eye, only I'd use a red hot tire iron.

  • no, I would not kill them. murder is a worse crime than rape. doing so, you're actually worse than the person who raped you. if you really want 'revenge', I'd press charges. you get some compensation for your suffering and can also make the rapist in debt, and WORSE imprisoned.
