yes. i asked my doctor about it as well. the purpose of the pill is to literally shoot hormones into your body to stop pregnancy. additional hormones are never good for you. your "period" isn't even an actual period. it's artificial and controlled. watch some youtube videos on it and read some articles of the horrible aftermath of the pill. use the fertility awareness method to naturally check if you're ovulating based on the consistency of your discharge. very simple and, if analyzed correctly, foolproof.
0 0 0 0Birth control helped me. I had an ovarian cyst, I went through HELL. I had terrible cramps that made it hard for me to get out of bed, I was nauseous, I looked flushed everyday and when I got my period I bled heavier than normal.
My gynecologist suggested surgery, I had my surgery on December 13th of 2016. Got released on the 19th, after I recovered I was put on birth control to prevent the cyst from coming back and I like it so far. I guess it “saved my life.”0 0 0 0Most birth control methods can be dangerous for specific individuals. For example, people with latex allergies can't use latex condoms, and some women can't use hormonal birth control due to preexisting conditions. Lots of birth control methods can also have some side effects for certain individuals. But in general, birth control is not only good for you, it's actually very important to use it. You just have to find the right method for your individual body.
0 0 0 0I don't use hormonal methods because my body can't handle them. They make me very ill. But I have a paragard IUD (nonhormonal) which was not fun to have inserted, let me tell you, but it's super effective which is worth it to me.
Good, too many garbage lying men about BC, when there are smart women here saying 'A didn't work, but B does'. You make us proud.
@sarkam Lol thanks!
All medications have risks and side effects. For birth control I guess the worst ones would be increased risk of DVT or breast cancers with prolonged use. That doesn't necessarily mean that they're bad.
Also its better than the alternative of a baby so...4 1 0 0

Yes. it's very bad for you. it screws up your hormones, and can sometimes do irreparable damage (see: the depo shot). The only really good birth control are condoms, and even then, they cut off basically all feeling to the guy's junk. So... pull out. lol
2 0 2 0Why is this even a vote, it's not bad for you, and any dude here saying otherwise is trying to knock you up against your will. Ignore that shit, be free and smart and a confident young successful woman.
0 0 0 0I don't have sex against women's will just because I rather not wear a condom. If she doesn't agree, then I move on.

@sarkam actually it can bc I'm on birth control and I go to the gynecologist and Iv had these kinds of talks with my doctors. I never said don't take it cuz obviously I still take it bc I'd rather have that protection so I don't get pregnant but obviously it can have side effects in ur body like any other pill can

There are typically some side effects (like semi-permanent infertility) and other things to varying degrees-infrequent or heavy cycles, mood swings, increased appetite, decrease in sexual appetite-etc. Every woman is different though.
1 0 0 0It's just hormones. It might cause a weight difference.
0 0 0 0No but there can be problems. I recently switched mine because it was killing my sex drive and made it impossible to have an orgasm. I think you need to research the different brands.
