It might be embarrassing in that it's normally more of a solitary activity that most people choose not share openly in public but you certainly have nothing to be ashamed of. Masturbation is a natural, normal and healthy activity. Girls have sexual needs too, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody that they masturbate.
