Is guro just a simple fetish or something more?

So I was reading something on Facebook and came across the term guro ( a fetish) and I was wondering what it was so I looked it up (for example go to gurochan.net) I've never been one to judge on a fetish but this one made me wonder if it was more than that. Do people want to see things like that in real life or is it just in cartoons and if they want to see it in real life is it a mental problem?

  • I'm not really sure. Guro is definitely way out there, but I'm not so sure its anything more than a really disturbing fetish in the (generally) anime they watch. I don't think any of them (or many of them, at least) would necessarily go out and do anything like that to a woman. I mean, I sometimes like playing violent video games, but I'm not planning any drive-by shootings, y'know? Also, the larger population of people that are into guro are probably in Asian countries since that's where it started. I don't know how well known it is in the US or other countries. So maybe if something did happen it would be less likely to happen here. Who knows.

  • i dislike guro but I think the people who are into it prefer to see those horrible things in anime. because most of guro lovers don't commit violent crimes. I am not sure if it is mental disorder. I myself enjoy playing fight and war games that are full of blood and deaths. but I do not make it happen that in real life.
