Is it possible for a guy to "run out" of cum or not be able to?

I know how weird this is. And I apologise.

But me and my boyfriend sex a lot, and he would always cum. But when it came time for us to have actual sex he could never finish. I once got a little precum out but never more than that. He said he never even got blue balls and that the sex was amazing so he didn't know what was wrong. He also mentioned that it usually takes him a while, and looking back we never really had a lot of time and sometimes it was in a car so maybe that was the issue?

He said he thinks we need to take a break from anything sexual for a week or so and then try again to see. But is it's even possible for him to basically run out?

When I cum often in a short period of time, the volume of my load becomes less and less and can get to a point of almost nothing. Kind of a weird sensation by the way :) Don't know about other guys, but the bigger my load when I cum, the longer and more intense my orgasm is.
Which is a shame really, cause that means that when I'm lucky enough to be in a relationship with someone who's libido is as big as mine and we have sex a lot, my orgasms aren't as intense. But the decrease of intensity by lower semen count, can, at least for me, be countered in 2 ways: 1) by longer foreplay, teasing a while before doing the deed. This also increases my level of hornyness and thus results in a more intense orgasm.
As the impact of not cumming for a few days can be quite big and as "self service" can become a bit boring after a while, when I'm single (like now ^^), I sometimes intensionally resist the urge to please myself for a few days so my semen count has time to go up, increasing the volume of my load. Then after a few days, I make myself comfortable and take my time, anywhere from 20mins to more than 2hrs, to please myself and have an amazing orgasm.

It's possible, in that the male body needs time to produce more semen, but it will always come back.

Depending on the guy, he may be able to ejaculate multiple times, throughout the day, and still have semen, but the volume will decrease, with each additional orgasm.

After a certain number of orgasms, within a short time frame, he may experience a "dry" orgasm, in which no semen is ejected. It will always come back, though.

That doesn't sound like what you're describing, though. Based on your description, it sounds like he just didn't orgasm, as opposed to having a dry orgasm.

It could be possible for him to have a Retrograde ejaculation occurs when semen enters the bladder instead of emerging through the penis during orgasm. Although you still reach sexual climax, you might ejaculate very little or no semen. ... Retrograde ejaculation isn't harmful, but it can cause male infertility. If he is concerned he should discuss this with a doctor specifically a urologist.

There's no limit in the amount of sperm that a man can produce. If he ejaculate many times in a row, whether it's from masturbation or from sex, he may have less sperm in each subsequent ejaculation, but rest assured that it will return to normal levels within a day.

If you masturbate enough there isn't enough cum that has been produced or is producing and you "run" out of cum.

If I cum 3 or 4 times in an hour or so, I've run dry. If I can get hard again after that (and that's a big if) I'll orgasm but no cum will come out. I'll need some recovery time.
