Most guys don't like the sandpaper feel (a light bit of it is okay, but not real tough). But many like the smooth feel of the bare skin. Also, if you want to avoid the rough feeling it has to be somewhat long, and if it is dark it hides the vulva (or at least obscures it). Seeing the vulva is very arousing and that is another reason many men like women to bare it. And neither of those reasons has anything to do with guys liking it looking like a little girl's area! I have seen that posted here often, and for the most part it is just not true (although there are a few perverts around anywhere).
I don't know if it is MOST men that like it bald, but it does seem that way. But there are many men who go the opposite. (See, Taster, I spoke up for you.)
To answer the specific question, yes, it is normal to not stay smooth. So, find a cream that will sooth the skin and keep the bumps at a minimum, and shave often; try a different method (waxing, hair removing creams, etc); or do not try to shave it all off (let it go natural or just rim it neatly).
Well shaving does that. If a guy doesn't shave his face everyday, or even every 12 hours, it gets that way. Now if you want it to stay smooth for more than one day, try using Veet, or something like that on everything above the vaginal area. Lazar works as well, or waxing will last the longest. Veet it will be a bit longer than shaving. Waxing makes it so the follicle has to regrow before the hair grows.
As for why shaved smooth over hair, if you have them do oral sex on you, the hair gets stuck in the mouth, and it's really hard to get it back out. Or for me, the look of smooth is so much better than the look of hair. To me it looks more feminine to have less hair than to have any there. I guess it's because I'm a hairy guy, and I can't stand having all this hair everywhere.
It can't be that hard to get a hair out of your mouth, don't you brush your teeth? and I wouldn't want a guy to put his mouth on my vagina anyway. I'd be too embarrassed.
I'm meaning like the back of the throat. But I think bare is sexy. I can't stand not brushing my teeth.

What's Your Opinion? Sign Up Now!Some do and some don't. But only do what feels comfortable for you. Like most hair, as soon as you shave it, it instantly starts to grow back. Only way around it is to keep shaving, let it grow or take drastic action like lazer surgery to destroy the hair folicles.
Best advice (as I said earlier), go with what feels comfortable for you. The guy may not like it, but he shouldn't define you. Additional note, I find shampooing and conditioning the hair in that region makes it softer, but that's me :-)
I agree with you entirely. I prefer a bikini trim with up to an inch away from the edges. It looks feminine, modest, mature and sexually attractive.

Well, if your boyfriends face hasn't shaved in two days, is his chin still smooth? Some are, others not: it's a personal thing (and changes with come with the age too: I wasn't able to grow a beard before I got 40 or so, I tried it again 3 years ago and now I got a nice little one)
I never had any objections against pubic hair: it looks and feels more like a 'real woman'.
My wife did it once, for fun, and it was fun but I didn't insist on shaving, thus... The next times it was a nurse who had to do it.
I'd say, do it once in a while, to surprise your boyfriend.
