Is there any way to tell if a guy had a vasectomy?

I know this sounds dumb, but can you tell? Is there a visible scar somewhere? I slept with a guy who had one, or I believed he had. Anyway, we had sex twice in one evening unprotected, and curiously he pulled out each time. Why would a guy who was snipped do that unless he was lying to trick me into not using a condom? He wants to hook up again this weekend but I don't want to wind up pregnant. Has anyone had the procedure? Is the scar visible and where would I look to see it?

  • He may have had the operation, however, for the first 8 months or so you can still get a woman pregnant. For many men, they will wait longer than the 8 months average to be sure. For some, they will still be scared. Remember, there is a failure rate to vasectomies and you would hate to find out you are the one in 5 or 6k who it failed. Also, for men the first time they feel comfortable trying it without a condom on a woman after the vasectomy for some reason they have this fear their discharge will not be as spectacular, even though they could practice at home for this. So they are curious. Lastly, some men like letting it out, as they have seen this a lot in porns.

  • As a guy who had a vasectomy many years ago, I will tell you that he indeed will have two small scars on his scrotum. You will have to be comfortable looking very closely and carefully but they are there. Usually they are on the front of his scrotum. Best to look when his balls are hanging. As his arousal increases, his balls will rise and the scrotum shorten. If need be, you can form a ring with your thumb and forefinger around the top of his scrotum and pull, gently, firmly, and continuously to stretch him back out.

    • I actually have a single central scar. But I think the twin scars are more common.

  • He is lying. The reason is the fact that he is not thinking. How does he know you do not have an STD? He pulled out and no one pulls out unless necessary. You should be concerned about more than pregnancy. Guys who have AIDs use this scam to infect as many attractive women as they can. For some odd reason women think that men care about them.

    You say it sounds dumb, you are correct.

    Vasectomy is not designed for unprotected sex with any women he meets.

    If he has pre come, then there has been no vasectomy. The scars would be small and difficult to see. You need to take into consideration his age and history. If he has children or an ex wife the chances are possible.

    It should not matter if you like him or not or if he is telling you the truth. The fact is you were frightened enough to post the question should tell you, something is wrong. Trust your gut.

  • He should really have documentation to prove this to his partners, the fact that he pulled out is very suspicious, you have a right to be worried. You'd see the scar right above the scrotom, almost but not quite on the shaft, it can be pretty small, hard to see.

  • Either two small scars on front of scrotum, or a single scar right on that kind of line.

    Where did he finish? It might be more that he finds it hot.

    Or not.

    How old is he? Does he have kids?

    • I'd guess more likely telling the truth then lying. Still take a look. And ask if you can't see. If he asks why say you want to kiss it better.

  • Yes there are dumb questions...but mostly there are only stupid people who will not ask...no there is no external way to know if a guy has had a vasectomy...any more than I would know if you had had your tubes tied...and this question is even less stupid when you consider that I know a woman who had an abortion because the a$$hole told her he was sterile and she believed him.../:

  • If I were to get a vasectomy the entire point of it would be to go bareback for life and not pull out. Maybe he has a fetish for seeing his come hit your body and your reaction to it though so who knows. Have you actually seen his come up close? I know before I was done with puberty my come was almost totally clear liquid but now it's 25% to 100% whitish colored and the white is the actual sperm I believe. If his come is clear colored he may be telling the truth.
