Me and my ex made a sex tape in college. It was actually some real hardcore p*rn, the kind you don't want anyone to see you doing. When we had a fight and broke up, he send it around and ended up on the internet. A lot of people in college saw it and I was glad I finished college a while later and that I could put the humiliation behind me. Now two years later, I work at an office. There is this guy that found the video but he hasn't told anyone about it. He asked me for a blowjob and promised to keep silent if I got on my knees. I did but don't know if that was the right choice. If it stays like this, there is not really a problem but I am afraid he will eventually tell. What should I do? And could I get fired if the sex tape goes around at work?

As for whether or not you'll get fired, that probably has to do with the type of job you have. If you work with the public, or with children, there's a good possibility. But the chance isn't quite as great if you work behind the scenes, probably.

This is one of those things you have to think about BEFORE you make a sex tape. But since you didn't, I suggest taking a deep breath and not letting it control your life. Report him to the police. He's clearly broken the law and ought to be in jail. As for whether you can get fired for the sex tape, it depends on your local laws. Some places it would be illegal to do so, other places treat work explicitly as "at will" and don't have to specify a cause when firing an employee.

Also check in your state to see if they have a law against revenge p*rn because I read somewhere that there's some states who have outlawed revenge p*rn . I think California is the 1st state to make it illegal and I think that other states are following suit.

First of all:

realise that you have done nothing wrong. That a***ole is the one who did something very disgusting and illegal. While it’s okay to feel guilty about certain actions you do, especially in your youth. This basically happens with everybody and we all make mistakes about actions we do and people we trust. You learned the lesson long time ago, so no need to feel guilty anymore. Make sure this never turns into shame though. Shame is feeling bad about who you are rather than things you did. And you have absolutely no reason to feel ashamed of yourself because ALL people make mistakes. If anything yours don’t hurt anybody.

Secondly:

As a victim in this situation, you should expect your employee to be understanding and supportive. You have done nothing illegal, but something illegal has been done against you.

Don’t listen to other advices about having to change your job often or changing anything in your face. This is a terrible advice, accept who you are. This is your journey, fight for yourself. This is the only thing worth fighting for in the world.

I don’t care how hard-core the video is, best way to get out of this is to actually convince yourself that this is not a big problem because it is not it is simply a video. If anybody tries to take advantage of it and comes to you saying anything report them to the police. If it ever happens, and an employee fires you because of this (I am pretty sure this won’t happen if you know how to act) then it’s not a good employee anyway.

Fourthly:

you can do this yourself or find online help to do so. Try to get the video removed from Google search results and from the websites where it’s currently surfacing. Google and most social media has tools to do so, Google it.

You should only do this one time with Google and social media. On the websites, no need to actively search and always be busy when it appears on a new website. have a passive approach so if you find one or someone sends it to you, report it and don’t let this take a lot of time from you. nothing more than a couple hours a year in my opinion. If you find this difficult to do. Have someone do that for you. The most important thing is to keep your inner peace and keep your soul happy and growing.

Finally:

I wish I could be beside you to support you and hug you in this situation. But try to find a support group and don’t be ashamed to talk about this to a friend or family member.

I strongly strongly advise you to take therapy and talk about this.

Every problem has a solution and by working and developing your mental state and taking the proper actions, staying calm and balanced. You will overcome any problem and actually become better in the process of doing so. This will make all the moments of your life happier. It’s not a big problem girl, you got this ❤️
