Losing virginity? Positions?

when having sex with someone for the first time, are you supposed to change positions a lot? i know that missionary is usually the most common..but do you switch it up? I personally don't think I would be comfortable going for doggy style or being on top for my first time..

  • You don't need to change it up. I'd probably suggest not pulling it out and re-penetrating a whole lot your first time, just stick with one.

Another thing (discuss this maybe) is that you don't have to go from never having sex to 'we will now have sex until he finishes'. You (hopefully) touch each other, lick each other, suck on each other, this is another way of stimulating each other. The first time I had sex, it was my partners first time too, we'd been stimulating each other, she asked me to penetrate her, I did, until she orgasmed, then I pulled out and she got me off orally.

Missionary is a good one for you to relax in, so probably not bad.

But more then anything, I'd think about what turns you on. You want him to be reasonably gentle, but beyond that the most helpful thing is for you to be as turned on as possible. So if the idea of some specific position really gets you going ... I'd try THAT one.

  • No, you don't have to change positions at all. They say that it's best for a girl to lose her virginity with her on top as that will allow her to control the depth & speed, but yea for me I found that much more difficult so as long as the guy is aware and gentle it should be fine. Try him on top in missionary, starting super slow after a lot of foreplay so that you're wet.

  • You don't have to switch it up unless you feel like it.

Personally when I lost my virginity we just stuck with missionary, took it slow etc.

You don't have to do anything you aren't comfortable with, if you don't feel ready to try a position just ask him to wait until next time (or whenever you do feel ready). There's no rush!

  • Honestly for a first time stick to missionary and maybe on the side except it you feel ready for something else. It might hurt a little and for a first time, it's for the best to avoid position that allow deep penetration.

  • either missionary or cowgirl.

  • You don't have to change positions during your first time. It's already complicated enough as it is, there's no need to make it even more complicated, especially if you're feeling unsure or insecure. Save the position changing for later, when you're more comfortable and open to exploring.
