My boss stared at my boobs?

Today at work, around lunchtime I decided to go order food from the restaurant next door. My manager was in his office, so I poked in there and asked if he wanted anything. He gave a little smile, stared RIGHT at my chest, and said "no, I'm good." Then I left to get my food. Should I be worried, or was it just a slip up on his part? He and I are both 19, and I was wearing my uniform which doesn't expose my chest at all lol.

  • Worried about what? Guys are gonna look at boobs. You don't have to be wearing anything sexy or revealing for a guy to look at your breasts. I would not entertain any advances he tried to throw at you, if he does, but while you're working there, be friendly with him while maintaining boundaries so he'll like you just enough to give you special treatment but won't feel comfortable enough to think he has a chance with you

  • My boss stared at my boobs?

Unsure why it'd be surprising as it seems most guys tend to stare at boobs disregarding there's a gal attached to them.

Should I be worried, or was it just a slip up on his part?

Probably best to be cautious as it seems guys tend to abuse their power and often looking becomes touching. It likely wasn't a slip up considering the question and his little smile beforehand.

  • If he was just another guy on the street you wouldn't be worried so why be now? Unless you feel he's a huge threat and might rape you, get over it! Most guys will notice your boobs and stare on more than one occasion. If he starts hitting on you and pinching or spanking you then I'd be worried if he was staring at your boobs. He's also the same age so it's not like he's 30 years older than you!

  • That is not harassment. Have you ever checked out a guy's chest who was wearing a tight shirt or stared at a man's arms or butt? If so did you feel you harassed them? Come on! lol The guy didn't do anything and you're probably flattering yourself, I bet he didn't even mean to look at your chest, it was just there.

    • I didn't ask if it was harassment lol. It just made me uneasy is all.

    • Well guys look at girls all the time all day long so if it makes you that uncomfortable you better stay home the rest of your life. I know I come across as being rude and mean but I'm just trying to drive home the point that this guy did nothing out of the ordinary and you don't even know what he was thinking when his eyes were on your boobs. I've accidentally stared at things before while my mind was wandering so he might not even have thought about boobs while his eyes were there.

    • And even if he was thinking of your boobs I mean really what can you do? People are people. If he makes comments or stares all the time then yeah that is creepy but if it's just a one time thing you can't make much of it.

  • Guys eyes and brains are hardwired to lock onto boobs, asses etc. It takes a lot of practice and training not to stare. At 19 your boss is still working on this. I doubt there is anything to take personally, but just be aware in the future if he takes things a step farther nip it in the bud.

    • Thanks, that's helpful. :)

  • i mean it could be him flirting, at first you had me nervous cause I thought he was older haha

    -A

    • Haha good point, maybe should have mentioned that earlier in the story haha. The thing is, this manager is notorious for always having casual hookups. I know for a fact he doesn't want a girlfriend. I felt vaguely like a meal when he looked at me lol.

    • well I mean, if you want to hook up with him then you know, go for it, but if not let him know your not interested. -A

  • Don't worry about it for the moment. Not looking at boobs takes an incredible amount of focus, I'm being serious. We'll slip up every once and a while.

If it happens more, then you got a problem.

  • Your 19 and have amazing breasts. He was complimenting you with his eyes. At least he wasn't a d*** about it by saying, "Nice t*ts!". Don't be so full of yourself. Take it as a compliment.

  • He is a man and human. Its natural for him to look at boobs of girls. Boobs are made in a way to attract guys :P

If he stares at them a lot you can tell him you feel uncomfortable.. or if you are the bitchy type, tease him :P.. you may have an advantage in work area of you play it well enufff ;)

  • I would tell him to stop looking at your breasts...sexual harrassment pure and simple

    • Are you serious?

    • That's not sexual harassment. He can stare all he wants. It will never be sexual harassment. If he was staring and said, "Now, THAT'S a nice pair you have there!", it might be grounds for sexual harassment.

    • What? She said she wasn't exposed. For all you know he noticed a stain or lint on her shirt and looked at that or he was just zoning out and staring into space thinking of something else. If some girl accused me of sexual harassment for this I would think she was a dumb bitch lol. Even if he did look at her chest that is still not harassment. He said nothing inappropriate.

  • it was nothing. he's still a human.

  • It was just a slip up on his part, guys take quick peeks all the time, only natural. It's rude when the guy stares though.

  • Could he have been just staring blankly into space? Especially if you weren't showing anything.
