Porn doesn't do it for me anymore, is this normal?

I've lost 100% interest in porn. but whenever I have a conversation with a girl-friend or things get intimate with a lady irl, things escalate very quickly down there. I don't know what happened but by myself, the drive is gone. there's no drive for self-pleasure alone with porn. However in the presence of women and intimate settings, my arousal kickstarts to full throttle. Is this normal? I didn't really use to self pleasure myself much before either, the drive just sorta vanished.

  • I kind of had an insatiable desire to look at porn in my teens and early 20s. It kind of changed after I started dating regularly, tapering off.

    But I was always weird about porn, maybe kind of girly there. I liked celebrity porno a lot, still do. It's like if Jessica Alba makes a sex tape, I'd probably need a lot of tissue and lotion for a few weeks.

    Yet it would *have* to be Jessica Alba. It can't be someone who just looks like her, that's boring to me. It's because I think there's a voyeurism there which seems genuine but only if it's actually her. Another is just that I feel like I have seen some glimmer of her personality through acting, interviews, etc. Of course it's probably largely staged, but it's a glimpse, when a porn star gives me little more than a body and some cheesy lines.

    In the same sense, sometimes I've seen porn stars interviewed and saw a charming personality in a woman, and then I liked watching her pornography. It's like I saw the real person, became attracted to that, and then wanted to see her goods.

    I often wanted to see a porno with a serious story, great acting, and sex scenes which might show me the entire woman's body but not too raunchy (still hardcore, but not too many "dentist" shots). Guys often say I'm weird for that, but to me the acting is what kind of draws my connection to the female characters, and then it's much more exciting.

    Oh well, I'm weird. I just wanted to share so that you don't feel like the only weird one.

    • Example of an ideal to me would be like Rome or Game of Thrones if it actually had hardcore sex scenes, but otherwise the rest of the story was intact, just as good. That'd be dreamy for me.

  • Uh that's great. That's kind of the ultimate goal, to stop liking porn and get turned on by real girls instead. For many guys, it's the opposite. They get turned on by porn but with real girls, little buddy won't work.

    • thats mostlikely what it is. all of my friends are getting married and have been in commited relationships for some time, and its not that im jealous - I just sort of want to have something intimate like that.
