Yes, this originally was a question. And it still is, since I am very curious as what other people have to say on the matter.
So there have been discussions about the videos that showed harvesting baby parts. I am somewhat pro regulated abortion in some situations, yet I question myself often on this. What I'm not convinced at all though, is on "abortion on demand". I also haven't watched the leaked videos yet (read somewhere they have been removed), but I did saw all of the other ones. This CNN interview gives a brief insight on what these videos are about. Since I'm lazy to explain, I will share this with you.
Planned Parenthood insists that these videos are doctored, and that everything is a full-on edit. While at the same time claiming that abortion is a wonderful thing to happen to women. Personally folks, I'm not buying this because it all seems as pure leftist talk. Why do I say this? Well, think for a moment here; If abortion is all that great and what these folks are doing behind curtains is all so morally good, then why do these leftists insist on covering all of this?
Look, as I said, I'm not 100% against abortion but I have mixed thoughts on the matter. But what if we saw an abortion procedure, what if we take the time to watch a fetus, and in other ocassions babies being torn limb for limb inside the mother's wound, would we still hold on to our theoritical points of view?
Here's the deal though, if all these videos are faked, and they deny such things, just as that CNN reporter did, then it comes the ultimate question... Why not show people what actually happens in Planned Parenthood? Invite jounalists to enter and record one of these procedures. And to visit all of the areas where this is handled. Are they that scared that what we might find may be horrifying? Are they afraid we do eventually find babies limbs stored somewhere? Why are they that protective for this to be shown?
See, in the end that's what I find unethical. To not let people see stuff for themlseves and then to form a decision. I think if we actually see these things we would be appalled and disgusted, and possibly change our minds. But hey, we're in the middle of a politician talk here, this matter is being handled no differently that what we saw, say, in pre-Bush elections or something. Even so, I'm more on the Republicans side this time and I am looking forward to read and see more about this.
Nothing has been set to stone though, according to policy readings held by several states it appears as if there's nothing wrong or suspicious about what this organization is doing, other than handling abortion itself. I just believe that there's a human element that can't be missed here, and maybe we should look into things a little differently. What do you think folks?
