Should I get circumcised?

I'm a 16 year old guy living in the UK. I am fascinated by the idea of getting circumcised, I even fantasise about it. Should I get Circumcised? Do girls prefer it?

  • I can't tell you what to do.

    I can tell you this, circumcision WILL cause you to lose sensitivity and will reduce your pleasure greatly.

    Some men have become impotent due to later in life circumcisions.

    If its a fetish to have done realize if you don't like it = it can't be reversed.

    Have you tried just keeping the skin back and pretending ?

    What you have now allows you the option of looking and feeling like either forskined or circumcised.

    Once you cut it your option is over.

    As for girls prefering it. In north america most girls are use to it.

    Where you live they are not. Some might find it a novelty but again I can't speak for the girl you might date one day.

    i have been in a country where circumcision is popular and my uncut penis has had more compliments and pleasure than all my cut freinds.

    It isn't your foreskin they will be concerned about it will be more important how you use what you have ! LOL

  • I would not recommend it. The foreskin has about 2000 nerve endings and is super sensitive to light touch. The frenulum (removed in about 30% of cases) is so sensitive that stimulation of it alone can cause orgasm. Also your glans hasn't 'thickened' over, so after you get circumcised, you'd have it rubbing for quite a while which would be painful.

    I find it fascinating that most of the answers here are 'don't do it', when I posted a question about circumcision here. link And the responses I got were overwhelmingly pro-circumcision.

  • Honestly, I don't think you should get that done. Number one, since you are older it is going to be pretty rough getting it done. Number two, not every girl prefers it. And atomizer is right, you will definitely loose sensitivity there. I am with a guy that is uncircumcised and I think it makes sex a lot more fun, because he has more feeling there. But, the decision is totally up to you. If you really want it and you know the precautions and whatnot and you still want it, go for it. Just take your time deciding.

  • Fantasies are great things. But many of them are great simply because they're fantasies - they don't become reality.

    Circumcision could lead to loss of sensitivity, and shouldn't be undertaken lightly.

    You certainly shouldn't be considering it because you think women will like it - there are a great many women who absolutely detest the circumcised penis.

  • In your country uncircumcised is most common, circumcised is most common in America. But it's up to you, but it would probably hurt. A doctor taking a cutting tool to your dick? One slip and you might become a girl.

  • Definitely not. Circumcision is an antiquated, pointless religious practice that should be abolished and made illegal, imho. Sanctioned genital mutilation, no different than wrapping feet, shaping heads or stretching necks. Furthermore, if a girl prefers a circumcised penis it's probably more of a cultural preference than a sexual one. Oh. And, as the other guy mentioned, why mess around with the most sensitive part of your body?

  • The head of your penis is one of the most sensitive areas of your body, with more nerve endings than any other portion of skin.

    If you're circumcised, the head of your penis gets calloused and rough, and you lose all that sensitivity. As an uncircumcised guy, I often wonder what kinds of sensations I feel during intercourse that cut guys are missing because they've lost the single most sensitive part of their body.

    so ask yourself: "do I want to desensitize the single most sensitive part of my body?"

    • The head actually isn't as sensitive as the foreskin itself in most men. This sensitivity will all be lost, as well as the further desensitissation you mention. Perhaps this boy should try "wearing" his foreskin retracted for a while, to see the effects of continual stimulation, and how it can desensitize...

  • Circumcision usually happens when you're a baby. To do it right now would hurt like hell, and I'm not certain that a doctor would even perform a circumcision at 16 years old. If you really want it go for it.

    • Of course doctors perform adult circumcisions. Worldwide, most circumcisions (among Muslim populations) take place at early puberty. The question isn't one of practicality, but one of whether or not he should be having a healthy, natural, sensitive part of his body amputated.

  • i am so cannot relate.
    however, that being said - unless you have some deep-seated urge to have someone carving on your schlong with a razor sharp instrument, i certainly wouldn't do it at this point in the game.
    as i understand, a bit more attention to hygiene - about 30 seconds worth in the shower - is all that's required.
    if a girl doesn't like it, then oh well.
