Since when has incest become so normal?

First of all let me say, that I think myself to be quite liberal and open minded, whatever my views I think everyone deserves to be treated equally, and people should hate the action not the person. I think people are always capable of changing and becoming better people and it's never too late. I try not judge and understand as best as I can. I'll graduate as a doctor in a few years (hopefully!) and I've seen people from all walks of life, with dispositions that I cannot for the life of me understand but one thing I cannot understand is incest. Incest and it's acception. Ok I get the odd exception. I accept people suffering from OS (objectum sexualism) even though I cannot understand people who claim to be in love with objects as a person would be with another person. but what is this rise in acceptance of incest? when has his been OK? when as society been told to accept this? Why are people who find it disgusting and wrong told they are "senseless" and "robotic" and are only repeating what society has told us? Please someone explain to me why I should be understanding and accepting of incest? My limit is brothers and sisters who have lived apart, never met and suddenly fall for each other. but fathers and daughters? what is the reasoning? I'm a medic. spare me the emotional crap. give me some solid scientific basis for this. am I alone in my disgust for this growing trend and acceptance?

by the logic of people who agree with incest, I have a question to ask everyone. I feel like murdering someone. killing them. lots of other people have done it. I feel like doing it. I don't really care about the consequences. so its normal and ok right?

11 24It's not as complicated to understand. For me imagine sex between brother and sister is very exciting because it's forbidden. Is tabu. Still not as bad as everybody thinks. There are far worse things like murder, rape, steal, betray, etc. It's just an adventure for pleasure. Whenever between consensual adults do not see the problem.
Any grown up adult can do anything that doesn't harm other, if you are giving love to your mother, sister, brother, father, siblings etc etc and you really have a crush on each other... Why not? go and fuck 'till the end of the world.
You can do anything you want, the sky is the limit.
And btw... I have a sibling and we had sex years ago. No big deal.
It's a normal thing, just the society made to look it like a forbidden stuff, they made it a forbidden fruit, and prohibited stuff...
Personally, if both relatives are consenting adults, who is anybody in this world to tell them how, and who you should love. Yes, many people are disgusted by the thought of incest, but speaking from personal experience I see nothing wrong with it. When my step-father passed away my mother was devastated. We spoke on the phone almost daily during this period, and opened up to each other emotionally.
When I came home to visit for what was my step-father's last Thanksgiving, in her grief my mother asked me if I would have sex with her, and we did. It was a little odd at first, but the experience brought us closer than I could have ever imagined. My mother reasoning was she didn't want to get involved with anyone while she was caring for my step-father, but like any woman she needed some love and intimacy during this time.
Our relationship continued after my step-father lost his battle with cancer, and for years we remained in a monogamous relationship with each other. Eventually, we both decided to see other people due to some suspicions from certain family member's, but all in all we look at the experience as positive

Incest has lost much of its taboo connotation with the arrival of (a) foolproof contraception (to prevent an unwanted pregnancy), and (b) the spread of STD's. The latter causes one to be more careful about the sexual history of a sex partner, and at least you know more about a sibling's sexual behaviour than that of a stranger. Besides, the spread of explicit sex videos on the internet has made sex less of an activity to be kept secret. Sex has evolved beyond its main purpose for procreation, to the present situation where it is enjoyed for recreation.
In some European countries (for e. g. France, Belgium and some of the Scandinavian countries) incest is not a felony and was removed from the statute books by Napolen some 200 years ago. There inter-sibling sex is no big deal and many parents will allow it to happen between their offspring, accepting it as the lesser of two evils, and will often even provide contraceptives.
The word incest often implies non-consensual, forced sex and brutality, with a victor and a victim. When it is consensual, and as long as contraception is used to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, there can be little objection to it. In such cases the brother and sister would rather make love than having sex.
I never had sex with my sister, but we made love almost on a daily basis whilst sharing an apartment attending the same university, for a period of three years. It was consensual, both benefited from it, and allow us to grow closer to each other. We made certain not to appear to be too close in public so as not to arouse suspicion, and often went out with other partners. Been there, done it, can recommend it.

Hmmm I wouldn't compare, lets say, consenting adult incest (without chance of becoming pregnant) to murder. I wouldn't even compare that to rape.
But yes I get your point, and yes... if you didn't use the word murder it would be quite logical. Your observation on the level of thinking leading into the action, that is,
I used the term murder because it is accepted to be wrong, it is a crime, and no good can come of it. if there was no chance of reproduction then it would be sex for pleasure. I'm sorry you can't help who you fall in love with but you as hell can help who you choose to sleep with unless you've been raped.

You don't commit incest to impregnate the family member. Anonymous postings are placed because incest is an illegal action. Why would I publicly come out and be like.. "oh I eat my sister out sometimes" online. That's a quick trip to jail.
People talk about doing illegal things on the internet literally all the time. You won't get arrested for it.

I like this because it's honest. The subject matter makes me extremely uncomfortable, but it's true. I'd rather hear this than "Ewwwww those people are disgusting" or "let everyone f*** everyone, it's normal and ok".
You are seriously deluded if you think the majority of girls do that. don't try to justify your own sicknesses by stating other people have them too. justify them on your own grounds, with your own ideas. nothing is ever justified by "Other people do it". incest is not very common i;m sorry to burst your bubble, I'm saying its becoming more common to accept it.

A lot of times it's more comfortable to sexually experiment with a sibling. There is a certain level of trust involved and secrecy.
Incest is the most common taboo in the world. Siblings/cousins have been experimenting sexually forever. Sisters often ask brothers if they can practice oral on them- vice versa, etc. A lot of times it is done for the sheer fact that it's wrong. Its a rush. It's not supposed to happen. Just like bestiality. It is all relevant.
