Slight bleeding after using dildo for first time, is this normal?

First off, I'm on the petite side and have never been with a guy any bigger than around 4-5in. The dildo I got was 8in. It was a bit uncomfortable to get in but once I did, it wasn't so bad. Once I was done, I went to go pee and noticed a bit of blood but no pain. Could I have torn something? Will this happen every time I use it? Also, another question, when I was using it, I got it about 6in. in before it felt like the dildo was hitting a "wall" and it couldn't go back any farther. What is that? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions, It was my first time using any toys before or having something that big in me.

  • Your vagina is your most sensitive area, and it is quite easy to create microscopic tears in the skin due to friction, lack of lubrication, or stretching. This can happen with or without you being completely aware of it. It will help if you take it slower in the future. Get yourself "ready" for the toy, as if you were experiencing foreplay. When you are aroused, your cervix will lift up and make room for a bigger object. Also, make sure you are either self-lubricating or using lots of lube on the toy. Now to your second question... Yes, the toy did hit a wall. The average vagina is about 4-5 inches deep when not aroused, but when the cervix lifts up due to arousal, it can accommodate a few extra inches. Of course, every woman is different. But your vagina is not an endless cave... there is a back to it. Don't smash the toy back there if it hurts, but manoeuver it into a place where hitting the back feels good. Your G-spot should be just 2ish inches inside of your vagina towards the front of you. Imagine that it's just behind your bellybutton. You will know that you are hitting your gspot because you might get the sensation that you have to pee. If you get this feeling (and you didn't have to pee before), it is likely that you are about to have a g-spot orgasm. Keep some towels handy so that you don't have to worry about it. If it hurts, you are likely hitting your cervix.

Using toys can be a good way to get to know more about your sexuality, but take it slow. Make sure that you purchase a toy cleaner, because 90% of soaps and body washes are either not powerful enough or too powerful to clean the toy properly. If the toy is made out of glass, you can use a regular body wash that is PH balanced, as long as you make sure to clean and rinse thoroughly. If the toy is made out of silicone (as most are), you need to invest in a good toy cleaner. Silicone has tiny microscopic pores that can trap germs from your body, the air, the lube, etc, and this bacteria can in turn give you a yeast or bladder infection if the toy is not kept clean. Keep the toy zipped up in a ziplock bag, airtight, and dry, when not in use, and wash before and after. Also if you ever get another toy, remember that silicone eats silicone, so do not keep both toys touching each other in the same bag.

If you want to experience a similar "deep" feeling with your boyfriend as you do with the toy, try different positions. You might find that if he enters you from behind (ex/doggie style), that you might get the impression that he is going farther in.

  • You probably just tore a part of your hymen, it's normal. It won't happen every time once you get used to the size.

As for a wall, I guess you could kinda compare it to using a Q-tip in your ear. I mean, it's gotta stop at some point, right? It can't just continue on forever until it reaches your throat or something.

  • The vagina is a tunnel with a length, not infinity. So you will reach the end if you go far enough in. Sticking down into the vagina is the bottom of the uterus, specifically the cervix. The dildo can touch the cervix and stop, or go past and stop at the end of the vagina, just slightly farther. You could scrape the cervix, but normally they are extremely smooth and should not scrape, and you should not be hitting the cervix, but stopping when you run into it.

So the blood could have come from the cervix, but that is very unlikely and you more likely tore the hymen a bit due to girth of the dildo, or roughness in using it.

  • Your bleeding is probably just the rest of your hymen being broken, it shouldn't happen again.

The wall is just the end of your vagina.
