1. she doesn't think sex is 'filthy or disgusting', something to be reviled except for procreating
2. she's uninhibited.
3. she knows what she likes sexually and probably has an easier time achieving orgasm, thus creating better sex

If a girl over the age of 18 *doesn't* masturbate, I assume she's probably either
A) lying, or
B) a prude full of strict, arbitrary rules about harmless things, or
C) all of the above
There are exceptions, of course... but I don't think they're very common. So, in short, I think girls who masturbate are totally normal.
For many guys, it's awesome to learn that girls do indeed, masturbate. It's as understandable as guys doing it. Hell, a lot of us do it too often. But if a man can't accept if a girl masturbates, that's like, wtf? He may be asking for the sake that, if he finds out you do, it'll freak him out in a good way. There's nothing wrong with it, but it is your personal business. You don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a female masturbating. I had an ex who liked being watched while she pleasured herself and I've got to say; my self control was pushed to its limits. It's a turn on from my prospective.
